Since the last time I tried to rent a trailer at this location it has improved 100%. I was very reluctant to try renting there again but decided to give it one more try. This time everything went very well from renting the truck, driving between locations and the rental return. Everything went extremely well. I was very happy.

The man who initially helped me was a little condescending especially when I asked a question about the gas mileage of the truck. I got the truck and it ran great but the odometer didn't work so I tried to track my miles based on a map to know how much gas to put in before I returned it. I ended up guessing and put a few gallons in to be safe. The guy that helped me also left the hood up when I picked it up- I was driving down the road and realized the hood was shaking. He wasn't friendly or customer service oriented. I wanted to add the $10 insurance and he smirked as if he thought I was going to wreck the truck and if anyone needed it- that it would be me. The woman who helped when I returned it was friendly and the truck worked while I had it but I was definitely frustrated with the man working.

Nice person. Quick. Efficient.
Truck in excellent condition.
Miserable gas mileage. $10 gas for 30 miles plus the 60 cents per mile.
But I needed the truck and would do it again.

The only downside was that a previous renter was a smoker and the smoke smell in the cab was overwhelming. I had to wash my clothes and take a shower to get the stench off of me. How about setting aside some trucks to be non-smoking, like the car rental companies do?

When I came to pick up the truck, there was only one person working and he was incredibly busy. He did not come outside to verify the vehicle I was given, so needless to say, I was given the wrong truck. When I got home, I noticed that the mileage and the truck number were different from the ones on the contract. The mileage was over 120,000 miles different, figured that would cost quite a bit in mileage fees. I tried to call numerous times, but kept getting put through to the service center because again the location was very busy with only one person working. I then had to drive all the way back to the location to get things straightened out. The person who helped me when I returned asked the other worker if he had went outside to check the truck when I originally came in, his reply was "I think so" which was obviously not true. Anyways, they got things fixed, but I did wind up losing 2 hours of my day, and anyone who has moved knows that on moving day, those 2 hours are very valuable!

Employees are courteous and professional as always. Sometimes the person at the counter is having to do many tasks around the property in addition to taking care of rentals which may mean added wait time for the customer.

Initially, Dane's auto Service was pick-up location in Albany, Oregon. I'd prearranged and was assured my trailer would be available at 10 am. I was happy knowing I could get my trip started 2 hours earlier. But trailer was not available. The owner said he'd loaned it to a friend who had promised to have it back by 10 am. I couldn't believe he'd loaned my trailer to someone and took that risk. We had to drive to Corvallis and pick one up there instead. I will NEVER deal with anyone other than a UHaul store. These small businesses don't take their responsibilities seriously. I had allot of money wrapped up in that trip and I felt like he was playing with my life and my livelihood. Very inconsiderate thing that he did.

The office opened late, but the manager was very quick when he got there. Return was very fast.
The pick-ups do not have trailer brakes - however, they do have a tow/haul feature that, when engaged, controls the speed of the truck/trailer, particularly downhill, saving on brakes and giving good control. I would not hesitate to rent a truck to pull my horse and trailer again. Thanks!

Service was expedient, staff friendly, equipment clean and well maintained. We would use again without question.
Only suggestion is to make clear the insurance situation. Most customers will not know that there personal insurance does not cover the vehicle until they go back and check and then it's too late to get the insurance thru U-Haul. Encourage folks to check before turning down insurance option.

Our driver was given a old clunker with newer models sitting in the lot. He said he had to floor it to make it up the highway ramp & the transmition did not seem to shift properly. He also said the cab smelled like wet dog. The ramp on the old 26 ' truck seemed to be shorter and steeper than other rentals we have used & we had problems with even 4 ft. rolling shelves getting high centered on ramp.

The vehicle was in very good condition, was clean and ran well with fairly good gas mileage. One thing that I noticed was it felt like the front end was out of alignment.
I was happy with unit and the personnel.

I was infomed during reservation that the small truck would be sufficient for a studio apartment. I was not informed that the moving truck ( 10 foot) did not have a ramp. I think this is a big issue and people should be informed because we expect to get a ramp when moving heavy furniture.

Call center quoted me the wrong price even after I asked questions to clarify. At the store, I explained the price was more than the call center told me, and I was told that the call center didn't know what they were talking about and there was no attempt to correct the problem. Only after I brought it back and spoke with someone else was any change made.
