I rented a 10' truck on 04/12/14. I completed the online express check-in at home. When I arrived at the facility, I had 3 people in front of me and we waited 45 minutes to get a truck due to technical problems with the U-Haul computer system. So much for the express check-in. The lady behind the counter kept apologizing for the delay but the U-Haul rental truck process is outdated and has some serious flaws. I find it amazing that Hertz allows you to go to Loews and either rent a truck online or through a kiosk with no problems. U-Haul still runs a business as if it's the year 1975. I blame this on old-style management afraid of the technology and keeping costs down for their bonuses. Next time I will rent from Hertz.

I had originally asked to pick up my truck in Auburn GA. I was able to complete the reservation online which looked like that would be honored. The day before I was supposed to pick up my truck at 8am, I got an email telling me that my pickup location had been changed to Grayson GA and that the truck would not be available until noon. After calling the Grayson location directly, I was instructed to call the Atlanta area office. The woman I spoke with there was very rude to me. I was told the Auburn location only rented their trucks to people who would bring them back to that location. I said that would be fine, that I would return the truck to Auburn, but was told "How do we know you'll do that?" Really? How do you ever know anyone will return a truck? The only option I was given was to pick up a truck in Snellville GA (20 miles from my home). The only recourse or compensation for that inconvenience was that I would be given a 20' truck for the 17' price and that I wouldn't be charged the extra mileage to get the truck from Snellville to my home. When I arrived in Snellville to get the truck, where I had initially requested as part of my online reservation the $14 coverage for damages, I was told that part had been left off the order. I had to add it at the register. I was able to add an appliance dolly with no problem. The staff at the Snellville location were very friendly and helpful. I just wish I hadn't had to drive an extra 40 miles (20 there and 20 back) to get the truck. What can be improved - make it clear online (where I assume most people make their reservations these days) that certain locations only have trucks that have to come back to that location and not "one-way" rentals. Had I known that initially, I don't think any of the rest of the problems would have surfaced. #2 - have the staff at the Atlanta area office take phone etiquette courses specifically addressing interrupting customers and treating them with respect. #3 - On your website on the pages where hand trucks and pads are chosen, have the default be zero for all products instead of any other number. I had to go back to that page to delete the options that the system automatically chose for me (2 furniture dollies and 2 dozen pads) #4 - reimburse me for mileage I had to put on my personal vehicle to get to the pickup location.

I dropped off my rental truck inn the evening after hours. I filled the truck up with gas to the mark as requested. When I received my bill they said I did not fill it to the mark and charged me a $30.00 charge plus they said I was off by about 3 gallons! This was so not true and have the receipt to prove it. I don't have the time to put up with this nonsense as I am taking care of my elderly parents. The customer that was ahead of me at the time of rental came back inside because they marked the gas gauge wrong. This is what I get for trusting and dropping the ruck off after hours. If your company wants to rip honest people off, you are wrong for that. I've been using Uhaul for years and now I will start using a different company. I've never had a problem with Uhaul before, until now. This is the first time and last time. I will not deal with people (a company) that is ripping people off from their hard earned money.

I reserved a truck to be picked up at the time the store opened, 7 am. The employee assisting me (the General Manager I believe) was rather abrupt and had a somewhat surly attitude. When I returned the rental early that afternoon, the same employee closed out my paperwork and my experience could not have been more different. At that time she was pleasant and had an attentive and positive attitude. I have worked in various service businesses through the years and realized very early on that my treatment of my customers and my attitude toward them were the ultimate determinants of my success and advancement. Consistently good customer service can't depend on whether an employee is a "morning person" or not. The employee is the face of that company at all times regardless. If I had formed my opinion of this store based only from my morning interaction, I can guarantee it would not have been a favorable one.

I rented the truck at 7pm 3/28/14. At 9am 3/29/14, I received a call from the location requesting i bring the truck in early because it would help them out. Even after being up till 4am completing my move i got up tired and sore to bring the truck in. When i arrived on site i jokingly asked the two ladies behind the front counter (neither of whom offered me so much as a "good morning"; the term "Ladies" being used liberally) if i would get a discount for inconveniencing myself and returning the truck early. I cannot tell if a discount was applied or not, i do not read uhaul invoices on a daily basis however the attitude and sarcasm displayed by your employees was truly astounding. Regardless of being provided a discount or not the manner in which I was treated was deplorable. A simple "im sorry we are not able to" would have sufficed. The employee i worked with directly was Chunda Walls who evidently must hate her job. I thought Uhaul was a place where i could receive service with a smile and a pleasant greeting instead i was treated like an unpleasant chore. I do not care about the money however it is unacceptable for me to walk away with out informing someone of this incident. I will never rent from u haul again and given the opportunity will advise anyone considering it against it, having done business with both Penske and Budget in the past i regret not driving the extra mile to feel like my business is appreciated.

To whom it may concern: I want to take a moment to thank team member Tyler Johnson at the Scenic Hwy location in Snellville, GA. UHAUL rep. T. Johnson is a true professional and understood the services and the vehicle that would best fit and meet my needs. Mr. Johnson provided me with a low gas mileage vehicle for the distance I needed to travel for my move. UHAUL is the best in the business and Tyler Johnson is the best customer service rep in the world who definitely deserves a promotion. I didn't like the employers attitude at the Monroe location, which is where I returned my truck. She doesn't have a friendly personality. Very dry, no greeting etc. Snellville location is great

Get the order correct and be sure they have everything they requested before they leave, so they aren't charged for something they didnt get like i did. We paid to rent an appliance dolly and didnt get it. I called and the lady I spoke with said she would try to have someone deliver it and call me back, I never received a call back so for their so called "one day rental" which was only 6 hours from my pickup time to my due date, we had to hurry and move all of our stuff BY HAND because we had no dolly. I will never rent from this place again.
