This location usually has above average customer service, but the last time I rented there was a huge foul up with a phone reservation, which just goes to show that you shouldn't make a reservation over the phone. I reserved a cargo van for a 48 hour span from Saturday morning thru Monday morning. When I arrived at 9 AM Saturday, I was told that the reservation was for 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, instead of Monday. I was then told that another van would be available at 3:30 Saturday afternoon that I could have until Monday. I needed to move some things right away, so I took the 2 hour window, then had to return it at 11, wait until 3:30, and then go back to the location to pick up the next van. AND they charged me full price for both rentals. Since it was their employee who messed up the reservation, and I had to completely change my plans for the entire day, a discount on one or the other of the rentals for my trouble would have been appreciated.

Infrastructure at this company is hugely lacking. The computer system needs to be updated. Information was not available to me when I requested it, such as pricing variability and even office locations, very hard to track down or get a straight answer. Extremely frustrating experience.

The GM was unprepared for my reservation at 9am, though I had received an email the day before confirming it. He was rude when we had to redo my process for the 4th time to change the rate that was in my confirmation email, (because they rented out my reserved truck, which is a mess I will not even further comment on) stating "I guess we can change it if you really want to do the process all over again" very blatantly annoyed with me. When I was finishing up after the drop off I was told by an employee that he would call me once everything was processed, I did not receive a call. The worst part was the email I received the next day stating that I did not have my gypsy moth check list, which I handed to the employee on my return and specified what it was. I explained this to the person that emailed me, to which their response was that they "called and emailed the location about your paperwork, but I have not heard anything back yet." Now I have to reprint and resend the paperwork in the midst of my moving across country so that my Ubox will actually arrive. I can not express how unsatisfied I am with this location. I can understand the potential miscommunication of my reservation time. I can not deal with rude management as I myself am in the management field, it is completely uncalled for. I also can not excuse the loss of my paperwork during such an important time in my life. To have to take the time out to fix another mistake by this location is unbelievable. I hope that something is done to fix this situation so that you do not encounter further disappointed and highly dissatisfied customers in the future.

I reserved a pickup truck for 5 hours. Calling for pricing and reservation was easy and cheaper than Home Depot. The receipt made it easy to figure out how much gas you should put back in the vehicle before returning it. I would definately rent from U-haul again.

Have a camera or a human in the showroom to greet the customers. We waited alone for 10 - 15 minutes and finally had to search for help in the shop.

The motorcycle trailer I rented worked very well. I towed a bike to New Jersey across the Cross Bronx and GW bridge twice in one day (from CT I-95 exit 74) and back, no problems at all. If that isn't a good test I don't know what is.

I have used this location several times and have to say they are all excellent with their knowledge and the time it took until I drove off. I would say that Comumbia should set the standard for other locations to follow as in August of 2013, I wasn't pleased with Orange, CT since they put a hold on the funds on my debit card for the rental and instead of capturing these funds, they refunded then which could take up to 5 business days to reach the account and I didn't have the necessary funds to pay for the rental . I blame this on Orange, CT Uhaul so I won't go there again but Columbia is always a pleasure to deal with so I would say to keep doing what your already doing and a thank you goes to their manager for his well organized team

My car died on the highway in PA on my way to CT. I went to UHaul to rent a trailer for returning my rental car to PA and towing my vehicle back to CT. The staff were courteous and professional. The store was clean and well maintained despite the nasty weather. The service was speedy and the employee explained all of my options thoroughly. I really appreciated this during my time of distress. My only suggestion for improvement is regarding the return of overpayment in a timely manner. I paid for 2 days up front but only used one day. I returned the rental on Saturday morning. It is Tuesday morning and I have not received the credit. I will call today to inquire about this issue.
