We wish that cargo vans were available for interstate one way rentals. The 10 foot truck was much larger than we needed. We will probably look elsewhere next time because of this.

It was difficult to find the return location-which added extra miles to the use---they were quick and helpful as I needed to get to settlement in Moodus--but did not give me my AMEX receipt for charge--

Improve the Uhaul corporate experience. While this location was nice, the overall experience with uhaul was horrible. The artificial 4-hour limit (which meant I couldn't have the truck I reserved for the amount of time I reserved it for), coupled with some EXCEPTIONALLY unhelpful 'customer service' folks at uhaul has caused me to decide not to use uhaul again. I'd rather pay another company more than to deal with you again.

Let me first start with the process. I reserve a 17' truck to pick up at 8 am in Thompson, CT over a week before I move and schedule the drop off in Windham, CT. Reservation goes through, no issues. I start making plans to move for that Sat morning. The day before my move, I get a message that my trailer will be ready to pick up in Columbia, CT at 4:30pm on Saturday. 30 miles away, 8 hours after my reservation. I call customer service, they said they would pass it along to traffic and someone. Would get to me within an hour. An hour and a half goes by, I call back. Customer service doesn't know anything about my problem, they give me the direct number to traffic. I call them, they don't know anything either. They finally pull up their schedule and say that is the only 17' truck available. I was offered to go to Woonsocket, RI to pick one up, another 20 miles west to drive 20 miles to my home, 30 miles to move, and 50 miles to drop it back off in Woonsocket. Miraculously, she found a 15' truck in Columbia at 7am BUT it had to be back by 3pm. Being the only option I had, I took it. So I drove 30 miles to pick up the truck, 30 miles to my home, 30 miles to where I moved to and 8 miles back to the drop off. For the inconvenience, I was given a $50 guarantee fee, which I haven't received because it isn't applied to the bill. The not so pleasant guy at the counter mumbled something about how it "should" be applied to the card I made the reservation with. I'll keep an eye out for it. It isn't even about the money. The guarantee few (if I ever see it) brought the price below my reserved amount. My biggest issue is that the day before I move I get confirmation for a reservation that isn't even close to what I originally reserved. It wouldn't have even been as big a deal if I got a message on Tuesday or Wednesday asking to call, there is an issue with my reservation and then work something out. This day before confirmation and not being anything like I requested is dumb. Very disappointed with the process. The guy at the counter could have been a bit nicer, maybe a bit more informed. Fix you scheduling process. Truck was clean, and easy to drive. So you've got that going for you. Which is nice.

The Truck I rented was upgraded to a 25 foot truck. This was nice. The 25 foot truck seemed unsafe. A number of issues with the truck occured. First off the truck did not ever start on the first try. The steering wheel had a lot of play and felt dangerous to drive. When I got into stop and go driving the radiator came close to overheating. When traffic started to move again the temperature would go back down. I would have told the rep at the store but I didn't get the truck back till just after the store closed for the evening. The service rep was great. I don't remember her name, but she was the only good thing about the experience. If she was unpleasant to work with I would have given the experience a F. Luckily she saved your stores reputation. Retire that truck before someone dies!

There was some issues with the right size not being available to me- I was assure I would get a refund on my card because I had to take a smaller size that I reserved. I still have not received that refund.

A charge was added to our bill. We brought our own dolly to use. We did not touch the Uhall dolly and we were charged for using it. We did not use it. I made several calls. The billing person was rude and said it would take 2 weeks to look into it. We would be notified of the result. We were not notified and we were not credited. Perhaps because the charge was for $7 Uhaul doen't care to fix this. Uhaul shoud credit me $14 and see how it feels to be taken advantage of. I had no choice but to go through my credit card company.

U-Haul needs to allow customers to rent blankets for a one way move a lot easier. It took the agent 35 minutes to figure out how to charge me for 1 dozen of them .In the process he had to call another store and corporate to get assistance. not only did it put me behind in my schedule but also the two customers behind me. the agent never reviewed any of the features of the truck. He told me which truck it was, handed me the keys and left. He didn't have a name tag on and indicated to someone on the phone that he was just a week end warrier. The experience left me wondering if I should look for another rental company.
