This is not the review for the location pick up, but the whole experience with U-Haul. Days before my reservation day, U-Haul changed my location for pick up. Since the different location was still close by, I went with it. On the day of my pick up, I was not able to pick up my truck because the customer before me was still bound to the contract. However, the truck and the lock pad was right in front of me. The pick up location is through a third party and it was the ONLY U-Hual truck at the parking lot. The lock pad was also in front of the third party door with a U-Haul logo. Why the previous renters were still under their contract when they clearly dropped everything off was confusing to me, even the representative did not understand how the website can make such an error. The representative told me to wait until they’re open. I have already booked my elevator and ferry for my moving, I can’t wait for 3 hours for them to open. The next best move was to offer another location for pick up, although close by, I have to drive to another city. I ended up having to do counter pick up rather than mobile pick up. Why does U-Haul do back to back contract baffles me, should not offer mobile pick up if the system can’t even check if previous customers have properly returned their rentals or not. During drop off, same situation happened. On my contract was still the same location for drop off. It was after hours and I can’t find the key drop off slot. Went on live chat to see if I can’t see i or missed it. I took pictures of my address and the store front to the representative, even she was confused. Then another customer who happened to drop off their rentals have the code to the gates with all the other parked U-Hauls. Have it not been the other customer, I wouldn’t know what to do with the truck. I asked if I can leave the keys inside the truck with the gates locked, but the representative said no. Instead, asked me to lock the truck but drop the keys off to the next business day or go to a different location for drop off. Why offer mobile drop off if there is no such service? I had to reasoned with the representative that this has caused such an inconvenience that the company had sent me to multiple location to fix something that they couldn’t even offer such service in the first place. In the end, she let me place the keys inside the truck. What kind of business offers mobile pick up and drop off, when they couldn’t even do so and send me a whirlwind of trips trying to pick up and drop off my rentals. I had to have another customer to save my situation. Everyone I encountered were really nice and understanding of my situation. However, I’ll never go with U-Haul again. It was stressful from the beginning to the end, I had to make multiple back up plans when U-Haul breached my contract twice.

Jack LTruck’s steering and alignment was really bad. I parked my car a few feet from the store entrance and received a $40 parking ticket. I will never go back to this location.

I was trying to sign out the trick via app and the worker at the location told me I had to close the app all together as it was messing up a second booking that he was working on. Upon returning the truck, it took me over 15 min to upload the pics and sign the truck back in, even with full cell service and 5G+ signal

SERGIO VMy only recommendation would be to have the gas higher than a quarter tank! It was fine for us but might be better for people going longer distances. Otherwise, happy with the experience. I didn’t catch the name of whoever checked us in but they were very efficient and helpful :)

Was nervous as first time driving/renting a U-Haul truck, but the rental agent was so kind and was thorough in showing me how to operate it and made the experience so much better! Was refunded my extra mileage quickly! The area isn't the best, but at no time during pick-up or drop-off did I feel unsafe.

KENNEDY MI just dropped the truck off and dropped the keys in the return location. The staff member that called me was very helpful and accurate with the return instructions.
ANN SThis year we had to rent several times, mostly trucks and a few trailers from different dealer locations. Most of the trucks and trailers were either dirty or not well serviced, such as one truck which had a leaky exhaust into the cabin area in the worst case. Our recent experience at this dealer site was pleasantly surprising and the complete opposite of the others: the truck cabin was immaculately clean - as was the appliance dolly we rented. The cargo area looked brand new, and this was not a new truck as it had over 99,000 miles on it. The check-in experience, after ordering it online, was quick and the on-site representative was very polite and expedient. Highly recommend renting from this dealer location as their standards appear to be higher than others. Also, don't judge a book by its cover: the rental office may be small but its a cleverly-converted storage container with a secure and convenient after-hours key drop off.

ANNE HThere was a lot of homlesss activity where the after hours drop off was. I felt uncomfortable leaving the truck there, not for my own safety, but for the vehicle’s. I suppose it all worked out in the end, but I’m shocked they don’t get broken into or vandalized more often!

Seungkook PInitially I was confused at which counter to go to as there is one across from the bottle depot on Queens, and no visible building from the street at the Douglas location. Everything was very smooth and would highly recommend.

JANICE NI was contacted 2 hours before pick-up and told I must drive to another city 2 hours away to pick up my vehicle, even though I had booked 3 months in advance and checked in the day before. It was a one way trip, so I had to rent a vehicle to drive to Naniamo from Victoria to pick up the truck. I was told it was too bad, U-Haul would not guarantee a location for pick-up or even a city. There was no compensation for having to drive an additional 3-4 hours. I was told I would not be charged the extra mileage. I would seriously consider whether to use U-Haul ever again. As I was driving up island I received a text to return to Victoria and pick up the vehicle. The experience was a nightmare and the worst customer service I have ever received.

Per GThe overall experience was on par with previous rentals but the fact that I lost 2 hours with a kinked cable on the back door opener set me back, then got charged for being returned a couple hours later. Sometimes it goes that way. Hope they fix it before the next customer experiences the same issue. I feel I let enough people know about it. Thank you
