U-haul’s computer system is ridiculously slow. It took over a 1/2 hour just to pick up the trailer despite having it reserved online prior to arriving. This delay was 100% the result of U-haul’s slow computer system and not the pickup location’s

Kathleen MDropped off this trailer 3/08/2025, they never checked it in, u haul called them multiple times to see if the equipment was there. They told the representative at loss recovery 7 times they didn't have the equipment. I had to drive there and take pictures of the trailer and the location for them to finally check it in 2 months later. I had to waste 30 in gas to drive there, not happy at all
Timothy GThe truck was in great shape. The gentleman that helped me was very pleasant. I didn't realize they were still open and put the key in the drop box not knowing I was supposed to take a picture of the odometer and gas level before locking up the truck. He came out and got the key for me and just laughed when I locked the key in the truck after getting my picture. They look like they're just starting out, so it is a bare minimum location, but the customer service is excellent.
ELLEN WWe rent a U-Haul once per year for a specific job we do. A few totes and 2 generators were hauled about 20 miles one way. An employee dropped off the U-Haul with no issues. I received an email receipt and thankfully looked at it and found 2 charges that didn't make sense; a cleaning fee and a fuel charge. I called Jax to inquire about the cleaning fee and spoke to Tony. Tony said that there was garbage in the back and that it smelled like garbage. He can't even rent it out till he takes it to a car wash is what I was told. I explained to him that the truck carried a few totes and 2 generators and absolutely no garbage was hauled in it. I have several employees that all were in the back of the U-Haul that can attest to the fact that there was no garbage smell. This is a complete lie. After speaking with Tony, I had the employee that brought back the U-Haul go back to Jax's to speak with Tony. Tony double downed and said it smelled and he wasn't reversing the charge. The employee also brought up the fuel surcharge and was told that it wasn't filled to the point it was when it was rented out (also a lie). I'm appalled at the lies told by Tony. We are a business in Cortland right down the road from Jax's. This is a very bad look. I hope to hear from someone soon and expect the cleaning and fuel charged to be removed.

RICHARD LThe truck was filthy. I had to clean it as the truck bed was covered in dirt. It stained one of my couches. The truck was obviously new and it otherwise good condition. I would NOT do the truck share/rent outside of the business' operating hours again. The steps to do so were so tedious. That has nothing to do with Jax Service Center, though. That's all U-Haul.
Raymond FOk for a short notice the truck was filthy, cigarette ashes all over. It stunk like smoke made me cough while I had it to drive. Mud all over every seat. Had to clean up steering wheel it was nasty. I understand it was short notice but it was horrible. 8 ty for listening
Wayne CRight mirror would not stay in a position to where I can see the road essentially I was blind on the right side. Had to stop 35 times to adjust.

Melissa RAfter hours drop off so no idea about interior. Did not like having to have the app installed to return truck after hours or avoid a fee. Would be more Customer friendly if after hours drop could be done through website login and/or with reservation number. To have to install an app for a one-time rental seems a bit much. Other than that I was pleased w the rental. Clean & all worked as expected. You also need to add a N/A line for drop off personnel friendliness if it’s after hours.

JOHN VThe back of the truck was kind of dirty when I got it. Had to do a quick sweep before loading it. The gentleman at the counter said that his employee who normally does these tasks was off and I was not dinged for a cleaning fee or anything so it is not a big deal.

JOSHUA AThere needs to be a sign at the Jax’s service center that faces 281 to let people know that the U-Haul rental desk is in the building behind that building. Anyone from out of town will not know that and we had a hard time finding the actual rental desk, thinking no one was even there! I had to call to find this out. . Staff were very friendly once we found the right place. Our cargo van was clean in terms of appearance, but it smelled of manure.

PATRICIA JI'm very upset about my visit - I ordered online was quoted one price wiht a $100 discount fo returning the vehicle to a certain location. Not only was the discount not applied, but I was charged DOUBLE the online quote that I had signed up for. I'm disputing this with my credit card company.
PATRICK MTruck was filthy garbage & broken glass in back front smelled -turned on air conditioner & smelled like old cigarette smoke. Was told had 1/4 tank of gas checked when got in & confirmed before leaving & returned w/ 1/4 tank & was billed for gas & a cleaning fee. Shouldn’t have a balance due except 5 miles more than I estimated. Not happy - guy was super nice but not a good experience

Mel WMake sure the keys are in the box for the person picking up the rental. I had to wait for a half hour for a customer representative to assist me. Fortunately there was another truck there to use. A hour later I was in my way. Kudos to that employee for her patience! However the employee that set me up with this appointment was not so helpful. On the day that I had the problem he was there but refused to unlock the door to assist me.

MICHAEL FHave the truck full of fuel or at least half a tank of fuel. When I picked up the truck the cab was not very clean and only had a 1\4 tank of fuel.
Angelo PThe staff were friendly and efficient. The U-Haul app needs some work. It is very clunky. When I uploaded pictures it froze on the "Next" stage. When I finally gave up and restarted, it was not clear whether anything I submitted had actually been processed nor would it let me do it again. This is not the first time I have struggled with the app, and I am very tech savvy
Dylan PThe keys were not ready when we arrived so we could not check in. There was a very kind associate who did his best to help us before they opened but could not hand us the keys for security. The app was a nightmare to use and no prior instruction of the verification process needed. Customer support did not help when called. This delayed our move significantly but we did get our truck. The truck was great and what we needed. Price is reasonable as well. The idea of the app for pickup is nice but without the guidance of an employee who arrived before open, we wouldn’t have had keys to access.

I never went into the building, so I can't answer to the clean/inviting and I'm not sure if I would recommend the center
