The truck had damage that wasn't accounted for in the photos I was asked to approve so I took new ones. The mileage and gas gauge were inaccurate from what was reported. The person who runs the restaurant where the truck was parked was rude to me, annoyed with U-haul's poor rental system, told me to call customer service, treated me like a problem and told me I had to leave. Only because I was on the line with customer service was I able to fulfill my rental needs and that was after an hour of time on the phone. This is my second worst U-haul experience I have had yet!
Anthony YDropping off the rental at this location was extremely frustrating. I arrived an hour before closing time, but the location was already closed. Despite calling the number listed on the paperwork multiple times, I received no response. I had to contact U-Haul customer service, who eventually reached the manager. The manager instructed me to leave the U-Haul inside the parking lot, but the parking lot was locked. I had to call customer service again, and they then told me to leave the U-Haul parked on the street with the keys locked inside. Given Oakland's high rate of car theft, I was very concerned that the U-Haul might be stolen or damaged, for which I could be held responsible. I had to call support multiple times throughout this process
