Do you check the locations? It’s called a market but it is a smoke shop. It’s also not really in a place you would want to leave your car. Quite disappointed in both the location and in U-Haul as a company after this experience.

Excellent service in renting this vehicle, both pick up and return. I was glad to learn this site offers U-Haul rental service, and has cargo vans available.

I guess I should have read the reviews before renting from here. Seems like they have consistently overcharged customers. But it is in the neighborhood and close to where I was moving figured it'd make my move easier. It actually has been very stressful. Make sure you take a picture of the odometer before and after using vehicle. They charged me for 250 miles when I only went 24, had the rental for less than 3 hours, that would be impossible to do. Currently disputing this with U-Haul, had to call and check in because it has been 5 days. They said the market hasn't responded but they got ahold of them, and they should be responding. Hope they are honest about their mistake, and I can be refunded.

Had originally requested pickup at Gilman St in Berkeley. Unclear that this U-haul was located inside a random smoke shop.

Again, there was a discrepancy with my quoted price and what they charged me. I showed a printed quote of the rental agreement and still the rental location charged me triple the amount. I didn't get a printed copy upon pick up of the rental truck. Additionally, they took my phone for entering verification codes, photos, etc. No company procedure should require access to a person cell phone to process a rental pick up.

Language barrier and impossible to get a hold of for customer service assistance so have to call the main U Haul office for reservation assistance. Largely unhelpful since English is not their first language. Customer service non existent at this location.

This pickup location is in one of the most dangerous areas in Oakland, not to mention it is located inside a cannabis smoke shop which really unbelievable and unprofessional. Would never recommend this place to anyone I know.

This is the one of the best location for Uhaul. They have always help me and always have trucks available.

Get a picture of your final fuel and mileage! They charged me for fuel, saying that I had returned it at 1/8 of a tank instead of 1/4. Tried to scam me out of 60 bucks. Thankfully I had a picture with the fuel and final mileage. That said, the customer service live chat was great: I sent the links to the initial contract and return contract, and uploaded a picture of the return fuel/mileage. Refund initiated in 2 minutes, no hassle. Literally less time than it took me to write this review honestly. Good job U-Haul corporate, I guess, but they should kick this scam affiliate off the network.
