DANGEROUS - read on The 15' truck they rented me was a newer vehicle, less than 4K miles on it. They said it had been readied for the almost 5K mile move we were making. However the 1st time I checked the Oil at a stop I found it was WAY below both of the level holes in the dip stick. It took over 2 qts to bring it up into the proper level. The car hauler we rented was in even worse shape. One of the rubber straps that hold the fold down drivers side fender in place was missing. I had to use a bungee to keep it in place for the whole trip. The tires on the carrier should have been Properly checked-replaced before it was put back into service. They appeared worn when we picked it up but I didn't bother to check the tires date codes. I assumed that would be a standard part of a service inspection.(especially given the distance) 2 of those tires came apart/blew out on different days while we were traveling, stranding us for 3+ hours waiting for roadside assistance.

JESUS SI have had nothing but issues here for the last year both with storage and U-Haul rental. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful, one guy in particular was a jerk. One month after starting storage the rates were raised which is a joke. 2 months after I moved in there were roaches all over my stuff and the unit. All of my things needed to be wrapped and stored outside to ensure no bugs came to my new place. Overall 5 out of 10 at best. Seriously needs some work!

Maybe they are puncture-proof tires, but I was never informed of that. a flat tire could have cost me hours of delay and in certain places can be an extremely dangerous situation.

I was in many units at that location. The up hick in payment was ridiculous. I went to a new facility I'm pleased with. Actually getting what I'm paying for. Under 90$ same size very well kept very secure. Uhaul is like other top corporations money hungry for fat wallets. Paying almost 200 $ there better be lights in and heat.

So therefore 30 minutes into my time window of having the truck was wasted. Secondly, the service representative at the time wasn’t doing anything so I went to ask him about the truck being covered in snow. He handed me a snow brush. You would think he would help to clean it off but he did not . I would like someone to follow up with me on this because this is insane.

Drove the truck a total of 6 miles and the truck took almost 7 gallons of gas when I filled it up. I know the truck doesn’t get less than 1mpg. So I was stuck filling up the tank for someone else, to avoid UHauls ridiculous charges for the tank not being pegged on Full, which it wasn’t for me.

I was not happy that when I "topped it off" (the words of the attendant because he thought it was full and I was only driving 10 miles total with the truck) I was up to 5 gallons before I decided to stop giving U-haul gas on my dime. And when I started the truck to check the tank as I completed the truck checklist before driving it off the lot, the gauge indicated it was right near the 'Full' line, so I thought it was full.

Ethan SU-Haul needs to prorate. I leased a storage unit at U-Haul in Oak Creek, WI for the past two years. I paid $179.95 on August 29th for the month of September. I moved out September 6th. I should have been reimbursed $143.96 for not using the storage unit for the remaining 24 days of September. I understand not prorating short-term renters because then it's like U-Haul is renting by the day. However, for long-term renters (anyone who leased a storage unit for 6 months or more), we should be reimbursed for the days of the month that we paid for but did not use. First, this is a more fair and equitable policy than the one currently practiced by U-Haul. Second, it enhances the customer experience, showing appreciation for long-term customers who provide U-Haul with financial stability. Finally, U-Haul makes over $5 billion a year. Reimbursing my $143.96 is not going to put U-Haul out of business. On the other hand, $143.96 is about 3 days of food for my family. In the future, if I need to rent a storage unit, I will go through a small, local vendor.

Also, the gate was always open, making all units accessible to any one with or without a storage unit. Also, upon moving my belongings out, there was dried salt all over the walls of the storage unit, as well as my items. That shows that snow/rain water entered my unit, then dried. That wouldn't be possible if just a little effort went into putting a water resistant strip at the bottom of the doors. Paying as much as I did each month, maybe consider taking it out of that and fix the problem.

Those events are as follows: 1) U-haul double dipped on my autopay payment for my storage unit. The resulting double-dip caused a chain reaction of subsequent overdrafts on my bank account that cost me hundreds of dollars in fines and about 4 hours worth of telephone calls to get things ironed out. After placing numerous calls with U-haul to get my money restored to my account, an agent finally issued a refund ticket and told me I needed to wait 3 to 5 business days to have the funds credited. I explained to this gentleman that this matter was urgent, as I now had a week to survive with zero money in my bank account. He assured me he had it taken care of. Three business days later, still no refund. I called back to U-haul only to discover the original agent essentially allowed the refund request ticket to remain in a state of limbo and that I would now need to start over with the 3 to 5 business day wait, while they move the ticket out of limbo state and relaunch the process. Completely unacceptable! 2) When I went to the actual U-haul location to discuss the matter in person and explain the unfortunate series of events that transpired because of the U-haul double dip error, the female manger at the counter was personable. But the other gentleman at the counter gave me attitude and told me that I needed to take this matter up with my bank. Well, that was a fatal mistake on his part. This issue was not my bank's responsibility to mitigate. This was unquestionably U-haul's responsibility to make good on. And this gentleman's response was a 180 degree departure from what I was willing to hear from U-haul that day. So, the next day I vacated my storage unit. And that marks the end of my relationship with U-haul. And I will be sure to spread the word about my negative U-hual storage unit experience any time I am provided the opportunity!
