About Us

Honest. Careful. Fast. Friendly. Responsive. I started Steve's Moving in 2022, shortly after retirement from 35 years of public school music teaching. During my adult life, I have moved many times, and I have helped many friends and relatives move. So I have a pretty good idea of what it takes, what all has to be remembered, and what could go wrong. AND, how to make sure things go right. During my career, I took many high school bands on trips both in-state and across the continent. Moving a large band with all of its equipment, uniforms, luggage, students, and chaperones is like moving an army! There are so many logistics to be thought of, considered, worked out, and planned for properly. It always worked out very well. I hire only highly responsible, kind, and hard-working help, mostly students from Iowa State University, who are eager to please and who can really use the money! We will treat you and all your family and all your belongings with the greatest care and respect.

  • Steve and his worker did a great job moving our stuff quickly and packing it tight, however moving straps and blankets that we provided were not used, which resulted in some of our furniture getting scratched up.

    Hey, just now seeing this. SO SORRY! Of course we always do our dead-level best, but sometimes The Universe decides, and Stuff Just Happens. We get it -- for all of us, our personal effects are, well, PERSONAL! Anything we can do to make it right?
