How big are the air holes? Are they big enough to let bugs in? We're trying to avoid transplanting silverfish into our new place

If the bag has holes throughout, how does it protect against water damage?
Hi, Cate! Vent holes in the bag allow for the item to breathe so that any moisture on or in the mattress can escape and prevent mold growth. The butterfly vent holes also allow the mattress to slip into the mattress bag easily since they allow trapped air to escape. The amount of exposure to the mattress from these vent holes is minimum and should protect the mattress in most circumstances. This bag is not designed to be waterproof as it cannot be sealed.
