U-Haul Dealer Montana Independent Auto a Lolo Success Story
LOLO, MONT. (April 8, 2015) – Kasey Godwin has been flooded with business since opening Montana Independent Auto last September.
“I don’t sell people things they don’t need,” Godwin explained.
Montana Independent Auto’s customers know they’re getting an honest deal, and now they can trust the company to supply their moving equipment and accessories from U-Haul, the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage.
Montana Independent Auto at 12445 Hwy. 93 S. is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Reserve U-Haul trucks, trailers, towing equipment and support rental items at this U-Haul neighborhood dealer by visiting http://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Truck-Rentals-near-Lolo-MT or calling (406) 273-5428 today.
Owning a business wasn’t something Godwin had always envisioned. In fact, he quit his job at a small auto shop and was en route to becoming the master technician at Lithia Toyota of Missoula when he started doing mechanical work on the side.
When his side work became more than one little garage could handle, Godwin rented a nine-bay shop and Montana Independent Auto was born.
“I didn’t even mean to have a business,” Godwin said. “It just kind of happened.”
Godwin, 30, seems to have impressed most of Lolo’s retiree community with his shop’s success story and U-Haul affiliation.
“All the other business owners around here are older than me,” he said. “The community is 110 percent supportive of a young guy stepping up and doing something he loves.”
The weekends are always busy, but Godwin usually has son young son there to help.
“He greets customers, checks the schedule and even books appointments,” Godwin said. “Then he finds me underneath some car and says, ‘Dad, I scheduled this appointment for this time.’ And I can’t help but smile.”
In their spare time, father and son work on their “mini monster truck.”
The 1995 GMC® Sonoma sits on a 1986 Chevy® frame weighing in at one ton. Godwin has lifted the truck 14 inches and installed 44-inch tires. When the truck is done, he hopes to participate in some local mud-bogging competitions.
“My whole world revolves around some kind of wrench turning,” Godwin said.
U-Haul and Montana Independent Auto are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.
Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.
Montana Independent Auto is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit your photos and learn more.
