U-Haul Dealer Southern Irrigation & Ag Supply Embodies Town’s Culture
COLQUITT, GA. (May 1, 2015) – Agriculture is a way of life in Colquitt. In fact, one of America’s largest murals, The Spirit Farmer, uses two Colquitt silos as its canvas and draws inspiration from Miller County’s agricultural roots.
“In Colquitt, you either are the farmer, work for the farmer, or sell to the farmer,” said Wesley Helms, co-owner of Southern Irrigation & Ag Supply.
Southern Irrigation’s business is selling, building and servicing anything related to agricultural and center-pivot irrigation systems. Now the 201 W. College St. location is branching out by assisting the do-it-yourself mover as well.
As one of the newest U-Haul® neighborhood dealers, Southern Irrigation is the lone provider of U-Haul trucks, trailers, towing equipment and support rental items in Colquitt. Reserve U-Haul rentals at this dealer by visiting http://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Truck-Rentals-near-Colquitt-GA or calling (229) 758-2359.
Southern Irrigation is open 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday. After-hours drop-box is available for U-Haul customers.
Situated off Martha Berry Highway 91 and one block from Highway 27, Southern Irrigation draws customers from Blakely and surrounding communities. The family-owned business opened four years ago. Wesley works alongside his father, co-owner Chris Helms. Chris has 30 years of experience in the irrigation industry.
The Helms are active in the community and recently engaged in a benefit to help raise money to cover surgery costs for a deaf boy in Florida.
U-Haul and Southern Irrigation are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.
Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.
Southern Irrigation is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product, send it in and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit photos and learn more.
