Ultimately, I had to rent a more expensive unit that was larger than I needed. There were no dollies although I reserved two. We reserved a drive up storage unit and it was rented out from us before we arrived. We were then given a â€œtemperature controlled unitâ€ on the 3rd floor and the fans were not working because the outlets were on timers. The associate John was very helpful, his counter part was extremely rude. It was 98 degrees outside and took us much longer due to not having the storage unit we reserved and the ridiculous heat on a temp controlled floor.john W.

The size vehicle that I reserved was not there when I arrived. I had to take a larger truck that didn't fit into the parking garage. This made the move much more difficult. The truck cab was also dirty and not sanitized. Overall a bad experience.David P.

Truck wasn't park where indicated, dolly wasn't in the truck and lock to get key was jammed (minor issues), BUT the staff extremely kind and helpful. They were onsite early and helped us through the process. The staff had extremely positive attitudes and were truly awesome. Truck was clean and ran great. I recommend this location.Nichelle W.

When I went to pick up my key in the lock box, there was no key in the drop box. After being very upset about no key in the drop box, I Luckily found an employee that was cleaning up. He went in the office and found my key in the office. An employee had never been put the key for my 24 hour pick up in the drop box. If I wasn't so lucky to see the employee I would have been stuck with no key for the truck I rented. That is very poor that someone from that location didn't double check to confirm all keys for the 24 hour pick up were properly in the lock box.KENNETH B.
Was charged for more miles than I went. Got chafged a $30 fee for not returnin the truck with more than 1/4 of a tank which was not explained to me. Was charged $48 for 8 gallons of gas. There is no way it takes 8 gallons to go 36 miles. I ended up paying over $170 for a $19.99 truck. I used Uhaul 3 times in the last month and I will not use them ever again.Roxanne F.
On June 5 I went into the location to make sure the account was paid up because there was an issue with my card on file. I talk to the manager Doug who was very helpful and we paid up my account through July since we planned on July being the last month. I realize we lost the key to the unit so I had to cut the lock and purchase a new one that same day. Well last weekend I started moving out of my unit and moving my mom into her new place. I received a call Sunday asking if we still wanted our unit, I thought that was odd since we were in and out of the unit all day Saturday and Sunday moving things to our place. Unfortunately we got cut off by the rain so we had to postpone finishing the move. Well today I tried to call them again to see what this message was in reference to. I got in touch with the customer service representative who stated that I no longer had a unit. I figured I should drive by the location to see what was going on. When I got there I found out that they had emptied out my unit and thrown out all of our belongings. What’s even more infuriating is that they had already re-rented out my unit that was paid through the end of the month. I spoke with the person at the front desk and they called Doug. Doug apologized and said that he had a lot going on and for some reason I thought because we left the unit unlocked that we no longer wanted any of our possessions that were in the unit. Below is a list of items that were thrown out. I can’t in my right mind figure out how this could happen. One call was made to me before they threw our stuff out. I hate this because Doug was great and very helpful the entire time. Mistakes happen but I need to figure out what we can do to replace the possession that are now ruined. I bought picture frame boxes in Houston and was told I could return them if not used. I did not use either of them and left them in my truck for an easy return/refund. Here in Charlotte, the clerk refused to accept them, claiming I was missing the tie and "how could he sell them." I explained that this is how I'd received the boxes, and he offered no further explanation, and no refund. Money wasted.Zara T.

My first van malfunctioned on the second day (dashboard lights stopped working). I did receive a different van to use for the remainder of the week. However, when I first arrived it was suggested that I call roadside assistance to get the fuse fixed, which seemed odd that a customer who is actually on site would be directed to make this phone call. It was also disappointing that neither of the two employees on site offered to help transfer my belongings from the old van to the new one as that would have been much appreciated customer service in 90+ degree temps.Amanda W.

My only complaint is the reservation center did not relay my reservation to the site. When we got there, there were no more large units available. We ended up with two smaller units on the second floor- not the large unit we could just drive up to. VERY INCONVENIENT! Especially after driving in from Florida. Manager was amazing and tried to make this right but it took over an hour of our valuable time. Reservation Center sold me an office space not a storage unit! But she didn’t have that either. Had a frustrating situation, bit it was handled well. When I arrived to my storage that was assigned, there was another lock on it. The ladies in the office gave me a key to remove their lock that didnt work, so I had to go back to the office. They ended up reassigning me to another storage, luckily next to it. The management and staff at 1400 Sharon Rd. W. U-Haul were always friendly, courteous and helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better customer service experience and is my reason for an excellent overall experience rating. Might be helpful if U-Haul addressed the elevator glitch. Oftentimes I could check in with my card at the front gate, yet unable to access the elevator to my 2nd floor storage unit. The card reader at the elevator either wouldn’t read my card or would read it and yet the elevator would still not work.This caused the manager and staff to have to interrupt what they were doing to come and help me resolve it.
