The GM, Paul, was not friendly. He seemed grumpy and short with his staff. Could have been having a bad day. Either way, I've been in customer service for 20+ years, and this guy didn't know customer service. He should take an online class on how it's done.

We used the boxes to move and in reserving the boxes it seemed quite straightforward to get the boxes delivered and picked up from my house(s). Our move location in the Dalles did seem to be more difficult and required multiple phone calls to confirm that they would get delivered so I could unpack them. It all worked fine in the end, everyone was nice and nothing was late, just was extra calls outside of the online reservation, which was an inconvenience.

This location was great; however, I originally booked a trailer out of Pendleton, Oregon because there were no requested trailers in Baker City, Oregon. There were no warning online (e.g. "Not available at this location") and I received a confirmation number. Two days before I was scheduled to pick up the trailer I got a call from a UHaul representative telling me I would have to travel to Pasco, Washington to pick up the trailer. That would mean an additional 140 miles out of my way. I was able to have the representative find a trailer in The Dalles, Oregon which was a much better fit for my move. I am very disappointed in UHAUL for offering a trailer in Pendleton only to switch locations just before my move. I already had people lined up for the move when I was notified of the change. The representative was not empathetic with my issue and seemed very cold. Poor customer service. Fortunately, your UHAUL location in The Dalles was extremely helpful and was a pleasure to work with. I wish all of your representatives were like the one in The Dalles.

We've had a UBox stored at this location for over a year since we moved to The Dalles. We've had to access it on a few occasions. Three out of the four times we needed to access it they neglected to pull the box out at the scheduled time. This last time, I called twice (which is no easy feat as this location rarely answers its phone) to verify that the box would be ready at 9:30 when I picked up a truck so that I could transfer the contents from the UBox to the truck. Once again they completely dropped the ball again. It was well after 11 before the box was available, because they had to dig it out, dispite them saying that it would be ready at 9:30 that day. Again this happened on 3 separate occasions. On the prior occasions, I was just advised to leave and come back later that afternoon, despite calling and reserving a time with them. As for calling them, I usually have to call 10 to 12 times before they actually pick up. I've had a few occasions where I gave up and had to go to the store to talk to them, and even that isn't a guarantee as sometimes the store is just left completely open and unattended for long periods, because their one employee is off somewhere. They have a walkie-talkie but in my experience, more often than not, no one answers. Most of the issues I can chalk up to being understaffed. That is whatever. But when I give them two-week notice, plus a two-day reminder that I need access to the UBox when I am renting a truck, and then have to wait nearly 2 hours before I can even start loading... that's unacceptable, especially when I have limited time with the truck. They had two weeks to get my box ready and still failed. It put a serious strain on the whole moving day. All I can say is I'm glad I'm finally done with the UBox and with that location. On the upside, everyone I've spoken with there has been courteous and friendly. But that unfortunately does not make up for the lack of professionalism and organization. Thank goodness it's a small town and there is no real competition or this place would likely be out of business.

I had a sudden housing emergency and had to rent a housing unit and reserve a van at the last minute. The experience went smoothly and I had great customer service, even when I switched to a larger unit the day of. Thanks for being a life saver.

The guy at the front desk gave misinformation that cost me time and money. My vehicle became loose from the straps on the auto transport trailer and the check engine light was on within the first 20 minutes of my trip. The lady who worked at the desk however was extremely helpful, patient, and thoughtful. I wish she was there to help when I picked up the trailer separately from the van

There was gasoline spilled in the back of the truck. Took over 2 hours to clean it out. Windows were filthy. I had to clean them before it was safe to drive.

We scheduled a 6:00am mobile pickup which wouldn't work. So we returned when they opened at 7:00am. The man working was So Slow that he didn't get our truck rental ready until 7:45. He was completely indifferent about helping. If the mobile pickup doesn't work at a location it should have told us this ahead of time. We were almost 2 hours behind schedule because of your App and the poor service at that location.

Maybe double check hubs and brake fluid for this customers looking to haul trailers long distances. We had to swap trailers because of dry rotted and mismatches tires on multiple trailers. The one we ended up with worked perfect though.

I thought I would save your car dolly I had rented from bouncing around for two hours to be returned where I initially had requested. I stopped by your Yakima branch on first and asked your manager about returning it there instead of The Dalles. He said it was expensive and told me $200. I said that's ridiculous that's four times more than it cost me to rent the dolly. He told me with an attitude well then take it back to the place you got it. I will not go back in that location and we use your company at work. Not much longer though. A guy was rude.

The loaders from Northwest Movers seemed to be good when loading, but after receiving, damage. Found out they did not use furniture pads for the furniture they actually packed. Very disappointing. Uhaul was good, got my items to my home in a quick manner.

I made a reservation for a certain size cargo trailer, filled out the pre registration information but when I showed up at the store to pick it up the store didn't have the size I reserved. There were a lot of excuses as to why the trailer size was unavailable, which I understand, but the center could have called me. I certainly left my phone number in enough places.

The customer service at this location was poor. We had reserved a dozen moving pads and rather than being proactive with finding a solution, the manager had to be pressed to find a solution. In addition, after reporting issues with the gas gauge on the rental truck, we were given no recourse.

The Uhaul representative was nice, but it seemed like his first day. It took exactly an hour to pick up a trailer that I had already reserved online, only for them to cancel the online reservation and start over. During this time the rep didn't seem to know much and had to call his manager for assistance as management wasn't on site. The online reservation also had me taking the rental back to the Portland area, but the original reservation was a 1900 mile one way trip to Missouri. When it came time to take delivery, no inspection was completed by the representative. The pictures provided of the trailer were not taken at the time of pick up, they were from a previous date as there was snow in the photos. I did an inspection and assisted with the hook up of the trailer but at least I was able to pick up the trailer, just an hour later than anticipated.

The employees at this location was not very knowledgeable as to how to do the paperwork for checkout. The trailer had not been cleaned on the inside since the last use, trailer was not inspected inside and out when we turn. I prefer U-Haul on West 2nd in The Dalles, the young lady there is very knowledgeable and very thorough.

The roll up door was stiff and easily got jammed in the up position. It took almost one hour to rent a small trailer. The process got all the way to the point of inserting my credit card for payment and then the customer service attendant realized that the two trailers on site were not rentable due to maintenance issues. We had to start the whole checkout process over again.

I really love the drive in bays for unloading. With the wind shaking my personal truck plus the rain, I would be delayed. All of the employees at uhaul are great and go above and beyond to help the customers. The experience has been nothing but good. I would ask that the uhaul company to stop advertising the totes because they are not on the computer system to be used. I had to buy my own for that reason.

Stop telling people their account is at zero balance then 3 days later charging them $435 more. Be clear on what your policy's are regarding things like 24 hour access and make sure people know that the insurance is a daily charge

The truck was clean for the most part but by the time I got home and had the heater and defrosters on I could detect the smell of cigarette smoke, The truck again was clean but I didn't known if U-Hall allowed smoking in there equipment. I also didn't want to be charge a cleaning fee for this. I'm a non smoker so this isn't something I just ignore, THANK YOU.

The facility is new so it is very well lit and clean, however the maintenance is a little suspect! The main covered cargo staging area is still not operational which is a problem since if there are multiple people picking up or dropping off things everyone is cramped into one small sliding door on the front side of the building. We had the unit for around 30 days and the covered cargo area was not functional in all that time. Luckily the rain has not started yet, but when it does the current situation will not work and i'd advise you to fix the covered cargo area before the bad weather occurs.

This site is brand new so they are still trying to work out the kinks. For example the under cover loading bay was not working which was inconvenient and the staff took a long time to find an open unit in the computer system which seemed really cumbersome. The staff were polite enough but they were a little frustrated with the antiquated computer system. This seems to be a problem at any UHAUL place. I suggest UHAUL overhaul their imputed system.
