I'm not from Winnipeg but I don't need to go there to know what a ghetto looks like. The gas station had bullet proof glass around the counter and kitchen. When I arrived, the staff told me they didn't know how to do the U-haul stuff and had to call a manager who was not there. Lucky me got to wait in the in-store laundry matt with 'the locals.' When the manager arrived he did not print off any documents, just quickly used his phone to go over the microscopic document. He did not do a walk around of the U-haul, just checked the gas and gave me the keys. I don't even know if there was insurance cause I wasn't given anything and it was talked about. I asked him to open up the door at the back to inspect and when he did I saw some garbage that needed to be removed. The guy told me I should fill up at his gas station (I did not). It wasn't until I was driving through a Manitoba wind & rain storm that I learned that the window wipers were garbage, thanks for that. Also, the cab was DISGUSTING! I had to buy wipes and clean the steering wheel 4 TIMES! The floor was filthy and had garbage hidden behind the seats. The driver's seat was warped, the right side was dropping which was just awesome for driving across 4 provinces. Lastly, I reserved and paid for a Dolly which was not in the truck. The U-haul guy said he didn't have one and would not charge me. I told him I HAVE to have one as I had shoulder surgery and need the Dolly to move the boxes. I suggested I go to the U-haul place down the road. I had no choice so I go to the U-haul place down the road but they would only rent me a Dolly if I returned it. He suggested I buy one of theirs. What a nightmare! Terrible pick-up experience! I actually did not reserve the pick-up at this location, it got changed.

I think this location is new to the rental scene. There was no parking. Nobody new what to do when I came to return. So if you were not able to do self return then they would not have helped. Very busy location with gas pumps and small parking lot. Garbage all over the grounds and I had to move pallets with nails out of the way where one of the attendants told me to SQUEEZE the 15ft truck into. Not to mention i told them I wanted to return to a location of my choice but they insisted I return to this location and it was not convenient for me. I was not impressed that they forced me to return here.
