I scheduled a pick up for 2:00 and was there 10 minutes before the scheduled time was told that I would have to wait for the girl that does that gets back. I was told she would be there shortly but I had to wait until 2:30 before she arrived then when she did arrive she was very rude

When I got to my new home 900 miles away, the operator there discovered the trailer they gave me had an almost completely bald tire. And they knew it was a long-distance one-way rental. It was the outer left tire, so it was obvious. My fault, I trusted them.
STEVEN CRe ACT: The men who hook up the trailers are a huge help. Very efficient and polite. However, Samantha, front desk, makes the check in process very painful. She is rude, disrespectful and condescending. Since this is the only Mesquite location where a trailer can be rented, I’ve had to suffer through her process multiple times. When I need to rent a truck, I go to the Virgin Valley Food Market despite it being on the opposite side of town from where I live. Their customer service is stellar. Reading through other reviews, issues with Samantha are chronic. U-Haul, you need to address this. It is a very bad look for you.

Bill GThe U-Haul representative at this location she doesn’t have the best attitude. This is my second interaction with her. She’s just doesn’t have a good attitude. Also with the auto transport trailer where the hitch is attached, the mechanism is not adjusted properly so when a trailer is loaded when you come to a stop and hit the brakes the unit slam shut and it applies to brakes on the trailer and the brakes on the trailer starts to smoke and then when you accelerate the weight on the trailer Yanks back because it is not properly adjusted
OTIS KWe had a check engine light on the truck. And we had a problem with the verification of the vehicles condition were we were supposed to take pictures. The person at the location said we don’t do anything with that. Apparently they don’t do anything they couldn’t even make sure the truck was running without a check engine light.

DAVID BI rented a 4x8 enclosed trailer. I have a lock for my hitch, but the trailer did not have a way of locking the coupler to the ball with a pin lock in the lever, like other hitches do. I had to go out and buy a bicycle cable lock, which I used to lock the trailer tongue to the hitch. I could have purchased a specific coupler lock, but I was only using the trailer for 2 days. I might also mention that the U-Haul dealer did not offer any locks or other options.

Michael DThere's a major safety issue at this location. Rental trucks are parked on the street, unless the renter moves the vehicle to a different location before inspecting the condition, the customer is exposed to traffic and in order to take pictures of the drivers side of the vehicle, the customer must stand in the middle of the street to get a picture that fits the sizing guide in the U-Haul app. The vehicle I rented was clean, however the A/C needs serviced, it did not blow cold air, it was only slightly cooler than ambient temperature; the washer fluid was almost empty, I asked the desk attendant for this to be filled, after waiting 20 minutes, I drove the vehicle to the service area and recontacted the desk attendant for assistance, after the reservoir was filled, I tried the windshield washer system only to find out that it was not functional, the fluid was spraying somewhere under the hood, but not into the windshield. After spending time trying to to use the U-Haul App which timed out twice while I was taking pictures of the vehicle's condition and then waiting for the servicing of the washer fluid for a system that didn't even work, to my frustration, it took about 45 minutes to depart after I was handed the key to the vehicle; which by the way, the desk attendant couldn't tell me a general location for. Worst rental pickup experience I've ever had.

They tried to charge us almost double the amount we reserved the equipment for and had it not been for the fact that I had taken screenshots of the confirmation when I received it, we would have been charged the higher amount. That put us two hours being our first day. The auto trailer we were given broke down twice during the trip resulting in us sitting hours on the side of Interstate 40. Total down time for that was 3 hours for the first breakdown and 5 hours for the second. We were towed back to U-Haul in Amarillo, TX who swapped out the trailer. That facility was great. Maria was so helpful and we appreciated her professionalism and assistance! Thank goodness we purchased roadside assistance.
Richard BWhen returning trailer was ask to back it back into tight spot I got it out of. I ask to have someone spot me to prevent any damage. Helper washing car right now, you can do it can’t you? Eventually had to unhook and put in spot by hand. Sore back but no damage.😡

JAMES BDistracted agent at time of booking. Trailer was dirty from mulch. You had to unhook and remove the trailer yourself after backing to a vacant space.
RUDY MHad to drive 45 miles to pick up the 26' truck because they did not have it there. Not very friendly, did not tell us that we needed to put block under car tires when backing off trailer. Pulled front bumper off when backing our Mercedes off the trailer. Not very happy
CYNTHIA LThe equipment was fine and filled my moving needs. I have dealt with this location several times and, everything, everyone is polite and professional with the exception of the receptionist who handles the uhaul portion.
KEVIN HThey told me to take the trailer off myself. I am 70 years old 6x12 trailer with no jack. The right rear tire was almost flat. This repair shop looked like they picked up U-Haul just to make buck. I love U-Haul and I have used them a lot and they have been great with great service. Looks like I am stuck with this one in Mesquite NV. Bummer

JAMES LThe woman (Samantha) at the desk 0n December 27th, 2024 at 1:12 pm was of no help at all. Incredibly rude and disrespectful! We are seniors and ask for help unloading our jeep wrangler and the car hauler. She refused to help, or get anyone to help us, even when we offered to pay extra for the help! We got the Jeep and the hauler off and left it where she said to on the side of the road out by the location. She refused to give a a receipt. I injured my knee taking our jeep off! Fortunately there was a witness to everything including my injury. I immediately called Uhaul and filed a complaint but no one has bothered to call us back. Terrible customer service! My cell number is 727-479-9814 someone should call me before I get an attorney. What was done to us is terribly wrong! I still haven't received a receipt!!! What your companies representatives did and did not do is irresponsible, just plain wrong and disrespectful to seniors and a military veteran.

JEFFREY DI had nothing but problems with reserving this truck. Originally was supposed to pick up at one of 3 locations in Los Banos where we were moving my sister from. Day before I recd’ notification to pick up in Atwater. I changed it to pick up in my hometown and wasted gas driving to Los Banos. When we dropped off, we put gas in to go 306 miles and truck was cleaned better then pick up. Clerk would not come out and look at the truck. I explained I wanted to make sure it was documented that it had a broken windshield. 30 minutes after we left U-Haul, I see an ACH charge for $31.30; receipt showed they added one gallon of gas for $6.30 and charged me $25 cleaning fee. I called them and said truck was clean and returned with the same amount of gas I received it in. They said they found a “wrapper” on the floor. I told them it was clean, but had the clerk came out and looked at the truck, I’d of picked up any wrapper that was found. They refunded the $31.30 as a one time courtesy. This whole experience was not good. I paid almost $800 for rental

BRAD SSeamless experience origin to destination. Good customer service, good trucks, the app is great very convenient and helpful and returning the rigs was a breeze. You all needs a slogan on the side of their trucks that says, "U-Haul - moving America." I would also recommend putting the 1-800 U-Haul phone number on all the trucks.
MICHELE BI had to go to this location because the first location more convenient didn’t accept trailers which would have been nice to know before hand. Overall a good experience.

Jody GI dropped off the trailer on Sunday and the location was closed so there were no personnel available.
JEFFREY DIt took over a hour to get my equipment rented it at 6 am didn’t get my equipment until after 7 am. Because of the online process no one explained you needed 3 references at 7 am on a Saturday morning. So no one answered their phones which holds up the check in via app. Not a great item to be using via app check ins.
