They were willing to expand my hardship and accommodate for monthly payment to be less of a burden for me. I would recommend others, ohana, friends to go to U-Haul storage. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience. From a scale of 1-10, I give them a 10.....+++++.

The U-Haul staff at the Railroad Drive were ALWAYS helpful to us. We so appreciated the care the took to be helpful and accommodating to our needs. Having a safe and reliable place to store our vehicle meant the world to us. Mahalo Nui.

The fellow that work there was very friendly and easy to work with an absolute pleasure. But I stopped by on a Sunday and Christmas Eve and the place was closed not handy but not the worst things that happened to a fella all in all very pleased would recommend it to everyone

We used this storage unit for 3 months. In that time, ALL of our belongings grew moldy and infested with roaches. Mice had been through our things chewing holes all over.

The mailbox was fine and the staff were always helpful and friendly. The office was not open for very long on the weekends which was difficult sometimes when I needed to pick up my packages. There were many times when I was stopping by and someone had let their dog poop in the parking lot, and had not picked it up. The mailbox rent was affordable when it was $10 per month, but after the price increase of more than 200% there was no way I wanted to continue my contract. Not to mention the requirement to pay 6 months up front. Especially since it is difficult to find a mailbox rental anywhere around Hilo, this seems like taking advantage of people who have no other way to receive mail. I will not recommend this mailbox rental to anyone.

Both men who “man the desk” at this Hilo location multi-task in friendly, courteous and unflappable fashion. The gentlemen went out of their way(s) to assist me with multiple rentals, which resulted in a low-stress move to the Big Island. These guys are the créme de la créme in the U-HAUL universe, and I’ll be forever grateful that Siri pointed me to Railroad Avenue.

I've had my storage unit for about a year and I didn't have any complaints or issues with my unit. The prices are reasonable and staff members are very friendly and honest! This was my first time having to rent out a storage unit. One thing I liked about Affordable Self Storage is that they check to make sure all locks are on correctly at each unit. One day I apparently didn't lock my unit correctly and I was called by a gentleman (forgot his name & he was also the one who helped my bf and I apply and did a walk around the property of the different sizes to choose from) stating that my lock wasn't on correctly. Luckily I was still in town and I went back to correctly lock my unit. Thank you for your time and honestly!

I was very satisfied with my storage unit. No rats/mice/mongoose, very well kept and maintained property. If I ever need a storage unit again, I will definitely be a return customer!

My husband returned a uhaul with a friend the day before I was suppose to rent a storage but the manager talked to him harshly rude.I did not want to rent from this company. I am sorry.
