The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. The truck was clean (except for the windshield, lots of stuck on “bug juice.” I was very disappointed in the maintenance of the mechanical part of the truck. I specifically asked that the truck was in very good working order as I was driving half way across the country. The steering was very loose. The transmission made a lot of noise. You could hear the drive shaft grinding as it was turning. There was often an extended delay before it would finally shift to the next gear and when it did you could hear a loud “clunk.” We had a flat tire en route. We were fortunate to find someone who could patch the tire late on a Friday afternoon in a small town in OK. We did not see a spare tire so we had it patched. I informed the attendant upon returning the truck that the left rear tire was patched but probably should be replaced as it was a significant puncture close to the edge of the tread. The truck felt unsafe to drive such a distance and certainly is now with a rather large patched tire. U-Haul is so convent since there are so many locations, and renting is quick and easy but quality mechanical maintenance is greatly lacking for distance driving. Disappointing and actually scary!

I couldn’t find anyone. After looking in three doors, a woman came bustling out of nowhere, asked me to move the truck, took my paperwork and scurried off again. Ok…. I moved the truck, spent 10 minutes looking for her, and finally found the key Dropbox with a url for instructions. The self-return was easy, and only took 10ish minutes. But there was no previous communication about the process, so I had been expecting an in-person return. If the location had been described as a “Self-Return, unmanaged location,” I would not have been as confused or frustrated.

Location very easy to find and lady at front desk attended to me as soon as I arrived. Very pleased with service at both locations..
