We made a reservation for Lynchburg Uhaul. Were called hours before pickup to tell us that there were no trucks and would have to go to Appomattox. Then were told Appomattox was closed but we would be able to get the truck. Wer were told to go to that location. We waited 3 hours to get the truck. We were only given 80 extra miles for the issues. This should have been something we were refunded a portion of the payment for. It was hours on the phone and then hours at the location.

Hollie kLocation was closed as it was after hours. Where is the U-Haul drop box?
Aaron SI was told to return it to the return location by Saturday evening and went to return it on Friday a day early and they were closed and I was told they would be closed till Tuesday so I ended up having to leave the keys with the auto shop that shared the same building. Maybe easter weekend had something to do with it but I was not briefed on that at the departure location so I think most of it falls on them.

ARLENE HOn Thursday January 30 I went into the UHAUL store in Appomattox VA. Location 14388. The person who helped me was Catherine014288. I needed a 10' truck for 1 day. They did not have a 10 ft truck but offered me ax15' truck instead. Although that increased the price I felt like I had no alternative so I agreed. Once she started the contract she asked when I would be returning the truck. I answered that I would be dropping the truck off on Friday in Clarksville, VA where I was moving to. She said I had to return it back to the Appomattox location because that truck was promised to someone else on Saturday morning at 10:00. Therefore, I would have to pay for the additional 75 miles to bring it back. Again, I had no choice but to agree. I explained that we could bring it back on Saturday morning. She said they opened at 8 on Saturday. I assured her we would have it back before 10. On Saturday morning we arrived at the store around 8:15 am. Catherine was not there but her mother was. She checked mileage, gas, etc. She informed me that she had to charge us for the additional 75 miles. I was shocked since I had discussed that at length with Catherine and in fact she was the one who told me I had to return it to that location. Her mother said sorry but she didn't charge for it and so that's additional $66.75. She said I am doing you a favor since you were late getting here. I looked at my copy of the contract and saw the Rental Out was at 10:35 on Thursday. I showed that to her and asked if 10:35 on Saturday would not be two days. She said although that's true Catherine said you would be here by 8 so you were late. My complaint is that someone needs to train better and hire someone who is capable of explaining details to the renters. This could have created a huge problem for someone who thought they had paid in full the date of pickup and to find out they owed the additional $66.75. The experience was very frustrating. I would NEVER rent from that location again

JULIO NThe vehicles check engine light was on, as was the check the gas cap light when I started it. I didn’t have any problems but was worried. Since I would pay if something happened. When I reserved the truck it quoted me for $29.99 for the truck and when I got there she stated it was $39.99 for the same size and everything I reserved. She also didn’t have a dolly I rented and had to give me one that barely did the job I needed it for. She also never told me she wouldn’t be there anymore the rest of the day so when I went to drop it off 2 hours early there was no one around, I couldn’t put the dolly up and no lock on the back of the truck so if it ended up missing after I dropped the truck off I would be held accountable. I was way over charged compared to the quote and am very u happy with the whole situation.

Joseph dMy confirmation email showed one address however I had to click my confirmation number to get the actual pickup location, which was 35 minutes away. This caused confusion, a delay in my schedule, and 9 miles in overage fees. I also overpaid in gas by $60 and there is no discount or refund offered apparently for that.
