There were a lot of mixups at the counter. I had ordered blankets, but none were available and I was not provided any notice. I had removed the utility dolly from the order when I checked in, but I was charged for it anyway. I expect that this location does not rent many trucks as they were not very familiar with U-Haul procedures.CHRISTINA W.

End of the day, Arnie's grocery either phone or text but it didn't come through and we were not able to return the key that night. They confused the day and told closing at 9pm, but we rented on Sunday, closing at 7pm. We arrived at 8pm. Very minor, overall they were cool and awesome!RICHARD P.

The only issue we had was that the U-Haul system was very slow. The location was very patient in trying to get everything setup, but due to slow website loading, it took about 45 minutes. Otherwise the experience was very good! Would highly recommend!Owen J.

This is a great outlet to get a U-Haul, cube truck or van. The corner store at 10th. Street and 3rd. Ave on the Brow of the Hill in New Westminster is easily accessible and right in the center of the Lower Mainland. The store operators are kind, thoughtful and positive. I highly recommend this outlet for anyone looking to rent a vehicle. Flawless service here. ;)RICHARD C.

I initially reserved the vehicle for pick up at Queensborough return-it, which was then confirmed by email. On rental day, I discovered that the pick-up location had been changed, and I was never notified. No one ever called to confirm arrangements, as was promised. Needless to say, this was confusing, time consuming, and shows shoddy treatment.GILBERT PAUL L.

Store owner was not very helpful when going over vehicle other than "follow link and figure it out" I filled the gas to the same level just prior to returning it. The store owner charged me an additional $8, saying that it was below the level of when I took the vehicle. That is a complete lie. I paid the money just to get out of there. Both the man and his wife were very rude. When the provided the receipt for the gas it was from their store till and not billed on UHaul invoice. The receipt did not show any tax charged and when I questioned that, I was dismissed. Is this the way they would charge for the fuel? It all seemed very shady. I would definitely not recommend using this location and would never rent another UHaul through here. The truck itself was fine. It was clean and reliable. The store operator, in my opinion is not a very good representative for UHaul.glenn michael S.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE Yesterday my father and i rented from Arnies grocery in new west. This was suggested as a pick up location in new west. I booked online which was convenient and then my dad picked up the truck for me well i packed. When he picked up the vehicle the store owner was not very nice. The store owner did not do an inspecrion report with my dad and check all areas of the vehicle, including rhe roof prior to leaving. We used the truck all day to move my furniture. When my dad returned the truck, the store owner checked the vehicle, and specifically checked rhe toof. He then said there was a scratch and immediately charged my dads credit card $ 320 !!!! My total bill came to $ 456.07 for the use of a cargo van!! This is so excessive and this is so wrong on so many levels. First my dad did not authorize the transaction because he would not have scratched the van roof - why because we were never underground!! Second - the store owner was not friendly he told my dad to â€œgo away he has customer and he already chatged the card, so mothing he can do, he has to contact Uhaulâ€ .. obviously we weren't expecting customer service from this person.. but that was rude. There was another customer in the store and he left as he was annoyed by the service from the store owner. Third- Prior to taking the truck the store owner was not transparent and did not go through a thorough inspection of the vehicle, INCLUDING the roof. So we would NOT have known if there were scratched in the roof already. This is SCAM. I am so not impressed with this as i am the one who has to pay for this as i am the one who booked and rented the truck. I want Uhaul to reimburse me that charge as there is NO WAY we scratched the roof and we were not told to inspect the roof prior to taking the vehicle. I will never use Uhaul service again. This was such a bad experience and i do expect Uhaul to do the right thing. I will continue to post this and share my experience as this was a total game and scam my the store owner. I bought plants there before at Arnies, so i thought he would be honest, but he his not.Tara L.

I had issues using the online app again. Not once have I been able to use the online service without issue. Having tried numerous times, I got through to an operator on the phone, he put me on hold and forgot about me. Another operator, Joel, picked up my call and he was very helpful and kind. Sadly, I shouldn't have to rely on the phone lines when I am told that I should do everything online. If I use your service again, I will book on the phone and call before trying the app because it is just a waste of time.Liam K.
The van worked well for our purposes and Arnie's Grocery did a good job getting us signed in although it did seem like an odd location for pickup and drop off. There were no issues however I did not like the pressure/scare tactics to purchase extra insurance that I felt I didn't need. I have always relied on my extended ICBC coverage and any coverage that I would have through my credit card. I don't think I was driving around uninsured for 2 days and shouldn't have been made to feel that way. Thank you.Warren L.
At this location, the vehicles sometimes are parked on a hill giving an inaccurate reading in the fuel gauge. Check fuel level on a flat road for the exact amount of fuel, then let them know if you have encountered a discrepancy in the reading.Simon P.

Contacted them after the Uhaul head office contacted me the day before, stating that every single truck (15 ft and above) were all booked for the weekend. I'm not exactly sure how that works but the folks at Arnie's Grocery came through when I inquired with them. Would recommend to anyone needing a U-haul without the hassle!Khalvin C.

Vehicle was ready as requested, even though I asked almost at the last minute for an earlier pickup time. I was not able to figure out how to upload my driver license photo as requested by the Uhaul booking procedure. The agent on site did it for me. Some of us older folks are not comfortable with constantly evolving technology. Other than that the entire rental experience went according to plan. I was contacted by a uhaul representative at 8:30 am on moving day informing me of my pickup location. I arrived on time at the designated location and was told that no truck was available, and the man working there knew nothing about my rental. A few points: - I was not happy with the fact that they added insurance to my order even though I specifically removed it during my booking. Fortunately, I noticed it before paying and asked them to adjust. They said it was there, convincing me I chose it when making the order online. Looks like they were trying to upsell; not happy about that. - They still did the paperwork there even though I did it all online as instructed. That took some time when picking up the car. - Lastly, I wasn't told that I needed to refill when returning the car. I was assuming the km rate I paid on top of the flat booking fee was actually inclusive of the gas. It was my fault in the first place as it was all in the agreement that I read only later. However, they could have mentioned it so I would have been able to prevent the refill fee by doing it myself. The car was overall nice, clean and all prepared for me - no complaints there.Michal S.
Arnie's was excellent. Truck was clean, ready and in front, staff had the appropriate paperwork. They knew exactly what they were doing. Drop off was just as easy, there are loading zones where you can park. Very happy with the experience, I would definitely go back , I was very comfortable with the experience, unlike some other locations.ROBERT P.
