When I booked my move I specifically requested a in-person location. The day before the move UHAUL called to say nothing was available at the requested location. I then asked again to be sent to an in-person location. However, when I arrived at pick-up location it was a mobile pick-up only location. I then had to spend 45 mins on the phone with an agent to get the keys out of the lock-box. I had ordered furniture pads and a dolly and since I was sent to a mobile location, none of these things were provided with the truck. The truck provided, was only at 1/4 full fuel which meant I had to take time to fill it up before I could leave for my final destination. All these major inconveniences threw off the whole days moving plans, pushing the final unloading of my move into the next day.
Paul GThere was no one at the office when we went to pick it up, despite being told it would be open at 12. Someone from the carwash wandered over and told us we had to call the local dispatch number if we wanted help. Then to top it off, we realized after driving to a gas station that there was a hole in the gas tank - apparently someone took advantage of the zero security precautions at the pickup location to drill a hole to steal gas.
Aurora GThere was no clear indication of where to drop off. Again, I have rented a bunch of trucks and this by far was the most unorganized process. No one was there to guide me to where I was supposed to go - I’m hoping I left it in the right spot
Jesse CHad a problem both picking up and dropping off the truck! At pick-up, I chose over the counter pickup, however when I came to the location the store was closed! And uhaul asked me to convert it to self service pickup! And it's so cold outside! When dropping off the truck, the location that I chose doesn't have enough parking space for my truck and they asked me to drop it to a different location! Which forced me to take an uber since it's too far from my home!
Craig JVery much needs signs of where to leave the vehicle. I dropped the truck off after the location closed and there were no signs re: where to park - in the middle of a fully functioning car wash. Found a car wash employee who told me to leave the truck in the empty lot next to the location, which had multiple "Private property, vehicle will be towed" signs. No lights at the lot, in an industrial area after 9pm made the experience quite sketchy.
Arijit NI did not request for mobile pick up. (Not the locations fault) but was forced to by U-Haul because this location only opens at noon. I requested a dolly and moving pads that were not with the unit at pick up time. Doing an inspection outside in the rain on your truck looking for damage that wasn’t noted previously is bull. ( I Uber’d to the location) The whole experience took over an hour with mobile pickup having to contact customer service regarding missing equipment and to change to billing to the new correct total. I was also on a time crunch because I had elevators booked and was also traveling to another city 3.5 hours away where I had other things booked. Moving is already stressful enough. Having to hand bomb 15-20 boxes because you trusted a company that specializes in moving somehow made it worse.
Kelsey LThis car wash location can not provide professional renting services. The poor guy in attendance is a car wash trainee, and has no training for U-Haul rentals (his words). He had no idea how the process or software works, and my cargo trailer rental was completed by customer service over the phone. Took more than an hour overall. Shame on the owner, not the trainee.

kothandaraman tThey changed our time so we were late meeting the movers. They didn’t have a dolly that we had booked in advance. We had to wait for over an hour to finally get the truck. We had originally booked it for pickup at 10am and left with the truck at 11:09am. Worst experience I’ve ever had. They also charged me an extra $200 after quoting me at a completely different price. And then after telling me I could use my debit / Visa card when we booked it, when we got there they said I needed a credit card, because the person at the counter couldn’t figure out how to process my card. Do not go here!
Shelley TMissing ordered equipment. Then double billed.
Terrence PThey should improve their app because it is difficult to pick up the truck and to deliver it I had to try many times since a lot of time was lost, 30 minutes picking up the truck and another 30 minutes dropping it off. That was the only problem about the rest if I would use it again.
Kevin AThis is a non-UHaul location, at a car wash. There no UHaul employees there. There are no supplies IE: furniture pads, which were part of my rental and I had to go to another location to get them.
Dave RTried online pickup which took forever so I decided to go do it manual but there was no one there. Took over 30 mins to pick up the truck
Jason ANot convenient to use it. Equipment we requested was not there. Took one hour to pick up the truck even though I reserved it before through online. App was not very supportive.
Jung LI was overcharged. Did not receive furniture dolly. Clerk had no idea how to operate system, had to face time someone for over 30 mins. Back of truck wreaked like cat pee and cat litter was everywhere.
Bryan JYou need to have check ins for people that don’t use the app. Train the people where U-Haul has trucks Staff where I picked up were friendly but not able to help check in. Also there was only a 1/4 tank of gas in the truck.
barry gThe process at vendor was different than the one mentioned on uhaul while booking. Had to spend an hour sorting it out. I think I have also been overcharged for the booking
Neil MI am old so I am not liking that I could not talk to a live person and everything had to be done online. I know I am supposed to move on with technology but I like talking to a live person (thank goodness my son was with me as this was a daunting task for me just watching him do all the things required). It was time consuming to do all the check in, pictures and all the information you required before we could get the vehicle. The lock box did not work which we finally had to call the 1-800 number to get some assistance to get it opened and receive the key. The vehicle took a lot of gas but was grateful that it had good tires on it especially with this cold weather and snow. Since I had difficulty with the process I did not get the vehicle on time (an extra half hour) which cut my time line down. Luckily we got it back in time but once again it was a long process to check in the vehicle. Whatever happened to dealing with live people these days.
celine mIt was a little trying as the photos didn’t upload at the end resulting in us being overcharged and having to call in. However, when we noticed the charge and called in, it was all rectified fairly quick.
Julie VAppreciated being able to drop off the truck in the late evening, with nothing being required except leaving the keys in the lock box. Something to consider for your fleet is installing back up cameras in at least some of the trucks. Having had back up cameras in my personal vehicles for many years now, I really missed them, especially when driving a large unfamiliar truck.
vida RI had to many issues with this rental. Had scheduled for 12:00 pm and nobody was present at the counter for pick up. Online checking was not working properly. Had my truck leaving the place by 1 pm and that costed me money for other reservations I had. I did return the truck by 7 pm when it was scheduled at 8:00 pm, even thought I was charged additional fees for late return. I spent 30 minutes trying to complete the return on the site and was not posible through the app. Had to contact customer service via chat and they couldn’t help me to complete/close the rental. Very very poor customer service, scheduling, and extra charges not allowed.
Jose CWorst experience I have ever had! The online booking system does work and trying to do things in advance, means nothing as we spent 50 minutes at the parking lot trying to activate our account which we had already pre activated and paid for he rental.
Sayed JI had bad experience because no one’s at the store and I called 3 times to get a key for a truck. I rent it 5 hours and I used only 1 1/2 hours and returned 2 hours earlier than usual time. However, they charged me $51 extra for after hours and cleaning ☹️
Muamar BI responded to the original email saying I’d rather deal with a real person. When we went to pick up the truck no one was there so I think a heads up what have been in order. By the time we got the truck it was 9:30 or so. We never had the truck for 6 hours. I’m also not sure how the blankets are counted but we got charged for 12 and only got six.
