It was a touch-less drop off. I did not interact with anyone, however the directives appeared clear.

The back of the truck had a ripped and shredded moving pad that contained either human or canine feces (yes, poop!) which caused the inside of the back to smell disgusting. I had to spray the cargo area to get rid of the smell. The truck also had a small hole in the roof, which i don't attribute to the pick up location, but should have been repaired at some point prior to me renting the truck. I took a picture but am unable to attach a photo here. Not the fault of the pickup location, but the online check-in process was not available in the app or online. the instructions provided in a link provided but U-haul customer service had information that did not match what was available in the app or online. the online pickup link should be attached to the reservation so it's easy to find. There was no "dashboard" menu link in the app or online. As a result, I spent more time than necessary to complete the pick-up process, in addition to going out of my way to get the pick-up location. The pick-up location was different than what I had reserved. It was not obvious that the truck would not be available at the requested pickup location, and the customer service person i spoke to regarding the change in location was not very nice or helpful in trying to help me with a better pickup location. She tried to blame me for checking a box when I reserved that said the truck would not be at that location. If U-haul knew that the truck would not be there, why was I allowed to select that location? She did waive the extra mileage from the new pickup location, which helped, but it was a major inconvenience to travel to get the truck 40 minutes from my house when I was planning on traveling 10 minutes. I guess the lesson is buyer beware, but U-haul could have done more to address the uncertainty of the pickup location.
