Only one person was available and was 15 minutes late. The truck itself was a typical U-Haul, nice and clean. The service location really did throw everything off, looking like a junk yard/used auto dealer.ARTHUR C.

Took at least an hour to get my U-Haul. The owner, Tony, called me the night prior and left me a voice message saying I can pick up the truck in the morning and give him a call if I needed anything. I called when I was unable to get access to my truck and I got sent straight to voicemail every single time. The truck had leftover ash in it from whomever drove it previously. It smelled so bad in there. When I went to drop off the truck, I requested that I get a refund on the dolly's I ordered since I was unable to pick them up in the morning. The owner then told me it was my fault because he called me the night before to tell me that I can â€œtake a different truckâ€ because he â€œput two dollies in the back of another truck.â€ (Okay, but why wasn't that truck assigned to me then? How do I get access to this truck when I'm picking up a key from a lock box?) He told me that since I never returned his call, it was my fault. However, I still have the voicemail saved and a direct transcript of it that shows he never called to let me know about any problems I would run into, or any issues with my reservation. Rather, he gave me simple directions as to how to pick up my truck and to call him anytime if I need anything at all. His voicemail never even mentioned to return his call.Hailey C.

The owner of this particular location was very rude and unprofessional on more than one occasion during my rental period, to the point where I ended my reservation early. He was loud and belligerent on the phone, through text, and in person. He needs to work on his professionalism and customer service skills.Kayla W.

(4 paragraphs) I only went to this location, over 20 miles farther away and including tolls, because the first truck I had reserved was double booked (a time extension was allowed 1.5 hrs past my reservation time). Spent an hour on the phone waiting to talk with someone. Never did. A kind gentleman at the first pick-up site called a U-Haul traffic person who finally contacted me about another truck. The man at the second location told me that apparently the truck there was also offered to two others but thankfully the man held it for me...I got a text about the second location at 9:54 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. reservation...it was 35 minutes away. When I drove the truck to a storage facility, the seat belt got stuck and wouldn't release or let me out so I had to crawl through the straps/loops with help from a friend. Finally, it released after 45 minutes and waiting on the phone to speak with someone (never got through). Upon closer review of the receipt, the charges were incorrect. I've emailed about all of this. It was a very stressful day with U-Haul, and I was disappointed because I've used U-Haul trucks before and it was fine. But today was just bad. I know it's a busy season, but please don't double book and hire more staff to answer the phones.tanya T.

Your rep told me that location was open they had to keep changing the time when they got thur helping me I was surpose to get truck at one o'clock it was I believe about 2 or close to 3 too late for me to do what I needed to do. Really bad Experience. Never want to do that again. One of your rep's were on the phone for maybe an hour seem like trying to help me get that app to work so I could try to get the key. My experience was a disaster from the beginning, I ordered the 15 footers and I got the 10th, I ordered pads when I got there the location has no pads, I called 5 times the 800 number and while I was waiting on line mimum 10 minuets each time and no one come to the phone, and finally my last one lasted almost 18 minuets and I couldn't talk to no one. I promise you I will recommend you to no one, and I didn't even say anything about the location, it looks like u guys no one visited the location!!!! Bad businessKhader H.

This place is a hole in the wall. The person was late opening his "store" for my appointment. He could not print the transaction record. He didn't ask if I wanted pads or a hand truck. The truck steering pulled to the right and the check engine light turned on near my destination. The pick up locations in both rental cases were not in the town of preference.LAWRENCE E.
My credit card was use on someone else reservation. I was asked to come back to give my DL and CC since the gentleman did not make copies or applied to the rental. Very unprofessional, rude , visit ended with police involved, terrible service, first time renter and bbb is going to hear about this and probobly the news to, we have recordings how we have been taken care of, this place should not exist, after making several phone calls and complains I was still charged for this horrible serviceanna S.

Well our original U Haul rental at Compass Self Storage in River Grove was CANCELLED without any notification to us. We were extremely disappointed with U Haul doing this to us with no notice or explanation. Thankfully the Manager at the Compass Self Storage was able to find us another van quickly not too far away. He provided a name of "Elizabeth Beltrane" who supposedly cancelled our rental and that may work for U Haul Traffic. Thanks to the Compass Manager's quick action, we were able to finally pickup another van at the Auto Express Inc. The location was an old run down truck/van shop. The van was mostly clean but as soon as we started to drive it, the "Oil Change Required" message appeared for the duration of the time we used it. Upon returning it on Sunday, there was no space for us to park it and thankfully a truck driver using the same lot was able to open the gate for us to leave the truck and keys. The after hours key drop was just a mail slot in the main door which did not provide much security for safeguarding the keys overnight. Overall I would rate the experience as very stressful!!! I would not want to rent another van from the Auto Express Inc. Location.Dennis M.

the attendant hooked up the trailer to my vehicle incorrectly and it popped of the ball joint as I was driving down the road at 45 MPH. I think it would help to train the attendents to pull up on the trailer arm to make sure the clamp is tight on the smller trailers.erich W.
