The owner of Ballard services (Richard) Was a very experienced dealer. When we went to hook up the U-Haul my electrics on my van were not working. His troubleshooting, replacement of the faulty electrical equipment got me on my way in time! Awesome service! He also brought to my attention that my front tires were bald and replace both of them immediately! I will return to him for future service on my car as well as U-Haul rentals! Thanks so much for making my trip home safe! 😉

The gentleman at Ballard Service was extremely rude to me. I didn't understand why he was acting that way towards me. Then he called me into his shop and started my check in. I called him the day before I rented the trailer to make sure he had it, then I went online and reserved it and put in all my info. He told he why he was so mad because since I put in all my info online that he lost his commission. I was very uncomfortable, and will never use that U-Haul place again. Also, I just noticed, I chose to waive the insurance for $8. I did not want or need it. I selected that online. Now it seems that the guy at Ballard added the additional $8 𝐈nsurance without my permission.

I had to travel 45 miles to pickup the trailer as it was the only available that week. Hard to believe! The location seems like it's a junk yard that fixes cars and rents U-Haul equipment as a side job. Admittedly, there were no problems with the hookup and I was on my way. It's hard to get them by phone as well.

We were definitely scammed and they refuse to let us provide them evidence of the photos we have of the vehicle for when we dropped it off with no damage. When I asked for contact on how I could provide them the man Richard Ballard on the phone screamed at me and hung up without providing any answer. Looking at reviews after this incident of the location, I can see I am not the only one who has spoken to this man and had an issue of stealing money from customers, including various altercations. I do not know how this man continues to be employed as I have never experienced such aggressive behaviour from anyone in customer service or outside of the work environment.

My order online did not add any additional charges beyond the rental charge and mileage. I even put more gas in then it had before I got it. However, the SafeMove was added to my online request at the site. I feel this is an inappropriate additional $14 charge that shouldn't have been included in my final receipt. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Have been renting trucks for over thirty years, And by far this is the best place to rent from. He will go out of his way to make you happy. Would recommend this location to anyone that is looking to rent.

The location was not clearly marked and we were rudely reprimanded for pulling into the owner's other lot (where the trucks were parked in clear view of the road). The truck was very dusty outside and in the bed, but that may have been from the dirt lot they were parked in.

Absolute rudest customer service I've ever encountered. Took zero time to explain contract or process to me or people renting behind me. He just wanted to get back to his project. Returned truck after hours. Had a $50 "cleaning charge" show up. Called uhaul first who said to call him. Asked what exactly he had to clean. Told me that "I don't have to explain myself to you." Asked if he had any pictures of damage. Was told that was also not his job. I said I thought $50 was excessive even if he had to clean and and I suggested he refund 1/2 and we'd be done with it. He told me "You don't get to decide that and if you have any more complaining call uhaul" then hung up on me. Next day uhaul called me back. Apparently he called them and gave more details then he was willing to give me cause he knew I'd call them myself. Why he couldn't take 2 minutes and explain this to the me is beyond me. Uhaul rep was very courteous and refunded the cleaning chaege. If you need a uhaul call close auto sales in grove city. Although they couldn't accommodate me, they were very helpful in finding me a uhual, Which unfortunately was this man

Make sure that when someone is dropping of a truck they are able to get it checked in at that time with the attendant at the shop. He was to busy working on whatever vehicle he was working on to deal with us and just wanted the key. Now we are being charged for extra mileage that we did not put on that vehicle, by an excessive amount! We have now also come across a bank issue bc of the attendant over charging us for that mileage we did not put on the truck. This is a very poor representation of this company and the way they want to do Bussiness..

The representative at this location had horrible customer service skills. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He charged us for things we didn't want and he explained nothing to us. I will never use or recommend this location to anyone.

Above and beyond the call of duty, this mechanic and U-Haul Neighborhood dealer helped us out when we really needed a rental truck and repair to our van. This is not my first rodeo, so when I say this fellow really was great, it's not just being nice.

We had a wonderful experience renting the truck. Rich at Ballard's was great, he was friendly and a pleasure to do business with. Our original pick up location, ( Close Auto Sales) in Grove City was also wonderful. When Uhaul messed up our reservation, Connie and Stacy went above and beyond to help us with our reservation, we thank them as well ! I would recommend dealing with either Ballard's or Close Auto Sales for your Uhaul needs.

This is the man that tried to fight my husband. Couldn't say I'm sorry was rude to me and then my husband came over and he yelled this guy was an absolute jerk, basically the problem he caused for us was not his. He used profanity and acted threatening I didn't feel safe at all I was scared of him. I thought he was going to physical injury me and my husband. The location was out in the middle of no where. I knew it would take a long time for help to get there if it was needed. I will never use UHaul again. Because of this one interaction I would highly recommend that you pull his license. Overall horrible experience with u haul, we ended up with a box truck instead of a trailer, the guy at the garage was a cocky careless dickhead who didnt care if we rented a truck from him instead of the trailer we were to pickup at his location or not. i will never use uhauls services again.

Drop off place was kinda creepy at night. it took me a while to find the key drop box cause the lable faded away. But the location was convient

I took pictures of the truck which shows the blankets were folded with one bag not even open. The truck was spotless yet I was charged? The man at Ballard's was the rudest man. We drove up from Florida and was 3 hours late with truck and he kept calling and yelling at me and I kept apologizing as we were unloading truck! To top it off as he kept calling and yelling we rushed to get truck back and didn't fill up half a tank which by the way is $80 to fill up so half a tank would be $40 yet I was charged $120...crazy to say the least... I'm so glad that I work with one of the largest banks in the world and will gladly spread the word on this outrageous experience!

Well, the owner of Ballard's was nice but he told us someone else was also apparently signed up and ready to take the same U-Haul at 10am as well and he also wasn't aware that I had moved up my reservation from 10 to 9 and counter pickup to 24/7 truck share pickup yet still had the key in a share box...seemed like a weird confusing situation. ALSO, and this wasn't necessarily a bad part of Ballard's, just my experience with the self pickup app situation, but NOLA from customer service wouldn't approve my self pickup because I wouldn't “look into the camera.” She argued with me and declined the pickup process the first time because of this and it was complete BS because I have an eye problem I've had since birth called strabismus, U-Haul, and this was very unprofessional. Since this was part of the pickup, I've included it here but I'll make sure I put it somewhere more public as well.

Very unprofessional business. The owner and his assistant seemed to be having a bad day and were extremely eager to leave as it was Saturday afternoon. I would never recommend this facility to anyone and will never use their service. The owner did help me repair my vehicle as the wiring was bad but he did not let me forget how valuable his time was on a Saturday. Very dirty facility even for a garage. I would take my vehicle here to get serviced in a pinch as they were knowledgeable in that field.

This location was unwelcoming, unprofessional, extremely unkempt and dirty. We hesitated to go into the 'office' because it looked like a horror movie set. The person we interacted with was surly & unhelpful. He told us the truck was full of gas when it was in fact below 3/4th of a tank. He did not do a pre trip inspection of the vehicle in our presence & he didn't respond to our phone call about the gas tank issue.

I was texted this location to drop off my uhaul. When I showed up a man in a uhaul t-shirt said - I am closed and I left you a voicemail (which was never received). He said he would take the truck and check it in on Monday. I asked for a receipt. He again stated he was closed and couldn't check it in until Monday. So, basically I gave a guy in a field the keys and the uhaul. I have no receipt of return. No mileage verification. So not what I expected. Would never go there again.

The furniture pads are supposed to be folded when a customer returns the equipment. The furniture pads I received were not folded, but instead just piled into the back of the truck in a big "pad mountain". This made it really difficult to determine if I had gotten the correct number and I had to spend 15 minutes just getting them ready before the movers arrived. Even though this doesn't seem like much time, it was time I could have spent doing other things that needed to be done on moving day. I also did not sign anything for the truck or get any paperwork. I found this very sketchy and it made me feel like I would get in trouble if anything happened to the truck, or I might be accused of stealing it or something, Also, the contract is supposed to be returned with the keys when it is dropped off, which obviously I could not do.

Talked to business owner on phone. Told him i would be less than an hour late. He said no problem. Dropped trailer. Owner unhooked the trailer and did not ask for any additional payment and did not provide or offer any final paperwork.. The next day i got an unauthorized charge of $20+ dollars.
