I experienced a breakdown away from my home, and approximately 25 miles from where I was staying. This occurred after 5:00 PM on a Monday, and I was quite concerned. I needed to return to my accommodation and attend an instructor class at 7:30 AM the following Tuesday. I contacted U-Haul in Lampasas, Texas, and they answered the phone after hours. I was only about five blocks from their location. I towed my vehicle to a safe location and received permission to park overnight, after which I retrieved the truck. This was my first U-Haul rental in my 64 years, and I consider myself fortunate. I utilized the truck for two days. I returned it to a U-Haul location in Georgetown. In summary, there were significant misunderstandings that could have resulted in considerable financial loss. I spoke with the Area Manager, and Mr. Dilliard listened to my situation, demonstrated complete understanding, and took excellent care of both the situation and myself. It is rare to find a company representative who actively listens, takes the time to understand, and assist their customers. The U-Haul location in Lampasas, and I also commend the young man managing the Jerrell location, provided excellent service. To offer constructive feedback, I suggest prioritizing listening to customer needs, desires, and expectations. Clear and concise instructions are also essential. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Dilliard; you are a true asset.
