After giving this experience a higher rate because I was trying to be a kind customer to small business owners, assuming they were doing their best…… I ignored the missing equipment on the truck including a proper lock latch. I ignored the mess left in the truck, and I ignored the just below 1/4 tank of gas when I picked it up, because it seemed like an easy transaction and they seemed so friendly. I trusted their fake kindness as a trust worthy business until I received the charges on my card…. I was told it would be $39.45 to rent a truck online and that amount was charged to my card. My original reservation was quickly sent over to Big Bear at 417 Aberdeen because the lack of trucks I requested for that day. That’s all fine, it was closer to drop off the truck to Aberdeen anyway, so no issue there. I picked up the truck and was told an additional deposit of 125 would go on my card - no problem, pretty standard; also what can I do, I need a truck. the clerk clicked over numerous spots till we got to the signing. I should have asked more questions but again, silly me, he seemed so nice. I drove 11.8 km with the time I had the truck; this was all very close neighbourhoods, yet, some how, my invoice has charged me for 8L of used fuel that was charged at highest rate… 11.8 km is less than a litre of gas….explain to me how 11 km is 8L of gas? I was given no pictures of proof, just an illustration of where the gas gauge was when I dropped it off. I was charged over $113 dollars for using a truck for less than 4 hours and driven 11.8km… ya, Im pretty angry that someone thought it was okay to lie and steal from a customer. When I realized what happened I made a complaint. I was treated like a criminal. I was dismissed and treated with such disrespect. I have never had a problem with U-Haul in all the many times I’ve used them, but after this, I will never use a U-Haul again! Disgusting!

I never ever leave any sort of bad review because I’m 20 and I understand how customer service jobs are hard sometimes… but I ordered the truck for 3:30 and didn’t get it until 3:55. They were so rude. I’ve gone to other u hall locations and they ate all fast and amazing. This was terrible. It was so frustrating. I will never go back.

The employee in the morning was helpful and kind. He informed me that if I returned the truck by closing (10pm) then they would be able to check-in truck and I could pay in store. Fast forward to this evening and they had a completely awful man working. He yelled at me to move the truck a parking spot over. When I asked for his assistance doing so, he said no. He took the keys from me and said goodbye. When I asked him to cash me out he said “come back tomorrow”. It took me calling U-Haul directly to get any help while he stood there watching me. I did the self-serve check in and then he demanded the keys at the end. I didn’t trust him taking the keys from me so I put them in the lockbox. I have never been yelled at before like that. I did not feel comfortable in that store. U-Haul - I would drop this location as a dealer. Worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life.

I ordered 6 weeks before a contractor van..there was a van in lot + a larger cube van…attendant would not give me the smaller van said I had to take larger cube van. I was annoyed! Said he was going to charge me same rate as quoted…paid $110 charge. Then all of a sudden, attendant said I could have the smaller van as requested. He voided my previous contract of $110 and then charged me $73 ! I said to him was he trying to rip me off previously charging $110? When he said the larger cube van would be the same price! I returned the van sooner than expected, my bill said a net charge of approximately $45 …yet my visa hasn’t been credited back difference between $73 and $45 yet….this location was terrible

For starters they didnt have their system working so I could take my truck. It took about 30 minutes to get resolved. The truck was very dirty both in the cabin and in the back and worse of all, the A/C was not working.

I had to wait for 20-25 minutes for the rental to be returned to the pick up station. So my trip did not begin until about 2:30pm instead of the allotted 2pm. The store owner did apologise on behalf of the late returning customer

Vehicle’s cab what not clean at all when I picked the vehicle up. Dust, dirt, and trash had been left from before. Would be better if the vehicle was cleaned before I picked it up.

The owner of the convenience store who deals with the rentals is very pleasant and helpful. He helped put the dollies into the truck, which is more than I can say for other locations. The gas was fairly low when we got the truck but I suspect that was because this particular truck should be on it's way out soon and isn't that efficient. The store had a little corner with moving supplies. I would recommend this location but I would also hope for the trucks to get checked for any maintenance issues soon.

It would have been a good experience if I wasn’t charged the fuel and service feel unnecessary, and go through the hassle of calling and explaining everything. Luckily I had foreseen this might happen, thus clicked pictures of the fuel gauge when I picked up and dropped off the vehicle. Not thinking to use the services again. Not blaming the store person who helped me, infact he was the one who mentioned uhaul might charge me extra if the vehicle is not refilled to the same position, that’s what made me click the pictures firsthand. Thank you!

The owner of the convenience store that you run your u haul business out of doesn't know anything about the business. As I was booking in he interrupted me several times to sell some random people cigarettes and other various items. He did not go through any of the check in procedures with me or even bother to come out and pre check the vehicle with me. Once I got in the vehicle I noticed a strong smell of cigarettes and that the gas gage was at zero. I took numerous pictures of my before and after records of km and gas levels as well as state of the truck. Once I returned the vehicle the owner of the shop tried to tell me there was a half tank when I left and tried to charge me 90 dollars for gas. I called to the u haul customer service and made a complaint but have heard nothing back and was charged for the vehicle when I was told that no charges would go through until I spoke to the area manager. Not happy at all.

The cab and the interior of the truck was dirty. One of the back tires was improperly inflated. There was excessive wind noise due to loose rubber gasket around the drivers door. My estimate of the km i would use was 300km and i was charged $279.28. The route i took due to snow conditions was 370km total and i took a photo of the odometer when i dropped off the truck. The Big Bear employee has charged me a further $224.61 on my credit card and when i contested the extra charge he said i used 500km. This is impossible. They have inflated the km usage. Please contact me to refund me the overcharge or i will never rent from U-Haul again and recommend to friends and other business owners that they never rent from U-Haul. Gary Capon 4165231644
