It was so easy.
PETER TI have very bad experience with the U-haul.My Story start with the U-haul when I reserved a truck from New Brunswick to Ontario,I deserve this truck in advance 2 weeks, Day before that I have fly to New Brunswick. I got a call from U-Haul and they are telling me that the truck I reserve it's not available in that location.And they are offering me a small truck which I refused because that was not according to my requirements,And after they told me that truck is available in a Fredericton which is 250 km far from my original location. They give me two options or I have to cancel my reservation or I have to go pick this truck from Fredericton, I don't have any option other than I have to go pick up this truck from for Fredericton,As I already booked my airplane ticket and I already set up everything there to pick my stuff from there, They give me some discount but that was not even enough to cover the gas price from Fredericton to Moncton which was the originally location, As that location close 5PM, but I told them that I will be 6PM there. They told you have to do mobile check-in, I reached there 6PM, but unfortunately at that location was no telephone signal no internet and there was no even Wi-Fi available.As that loction was in remote area. I try to walk from there to find the signal, But still I don't have internet access, I tried to call you Hall and I explained my situation and I requested if they can help me to do check-in so I can get my keys but they don't want to help they told that you have to do by yourself or you have to wait till tomorrow morning there to get the keys. This customer service is useless, I talked with 1 hour 37 minutes with the three different persons, but nobody helped me, And then after I walked 5 km to get internet access and finally I did a check in online and come back 5 km at the location to get the key to take the truck, When I start driving from there, and I noticed that that truck don't have even Cruise control function, I drove that truck 1500 km without Cruise Control Function, U-Haul fully torture me financially physically and mentally, And end of my trip I did calculation. I spent way more which they gave me estimate, This is my first and last time that I am using U-Haul. So, pleaseThink before you rent or Reserve any U-Haul, you will be also stressed and mentally torture. They blackmail you because they just threatening you that they can cancel the reservation, Their customer service is useless. They don't want to even help you at all.
nau nWish i could give a negative rating but the 1 star was a rating based on the head office or procedures they set out for consumers and not the employees at either location - the employees were all great and the issue caused was not by them - but by the Head Office people. The issue is corporate over booking units and making consumers drive all over the place for a replacement - my issue - i booked a 10 foot cube box at my local store in Sackville NB and when i went in Head Office told me it was not available even though i reserved it - i went to my local store and it was there i went in and was told that head office rented to someone else who was using it and returning to same location and i was leaving at a different location so i got bumped even though i reserved first. I had to drive out of my way 150 km and had to drive a bigger unit - which cost more on gas with no credit. They think giving me a larger unit for same price as 10 foot is all i need. But i dont need the larger unit so it is no benefit only an extra cost. If they know i am dropping off at different location, then why not tell me that at time of renting and i can alot my time better than being told day of and stressed for time. This is very deceitful and untrustworthy and i will be finding new ways of renting trucks and will NEVER use UHAUL again

JASON MOur request was for a truck rental in Saint John. The morning of our move we found out we had to drive to Fredericton(an hour away) to pick up the truck. We did receive a discount but we would rather have had the truck available in Saint John.
Eric TI received my quote for my U-Haul. It wasn’t in my area so I had to drive an hour away to pick it up and they told me that I wasn’t gonna get charged for the kilometres because they didn’t have anything in my area and then when I got there, I ended up having to pay for it right away, so I was a little disappointed, actually a lot disappointed because I didn’t have any money left. The lady at this location called and was very nice about it even when I was upset, but we couldn’t resolve the issue on the front on the day. We picked it up. We’re in a hurry, but the lady that was running the shop was amazing. Very patient.
MICHELLE JWhen booking, I was confirmed to have made a reservation one and a half months in advance. I was then called a day before my reservation, and informed that they would not have a truck for me. Thus, I was moved to a location that was an hour and a half away by car. This meant that I needed to drive the hour and a half in the truck just to get back home so we could begin loading. And upon reaching the new location, I was informed that, had I not been 10 minutes early, we still would not have had a truck because they triple booked it... All-in-all, very unimpressed by the lack of coordination and planning on your part.

DOMINIQUE JI left the equipement in perfect and clean order but I was charged a $25 cleaning fee without prior notice or mention. It was cleaner than when I picked it up. The truck engine was not in good working order. I was charged two insurance fees - one for the trailer that I did not want and another for the truck. All this because they reserved a 26 foot truck but did not have one. Not a good experience.

JOHN BFair rates if local, quick and easy pick up and good service. Would use again
JOHN Hneeded to pic up a sport utility vehicle. Was never told that the opening of the trailer is NOT the same size as the trailer itself. We never used it at all. Parked it at a dealers business and BORROWED ONE OF THEIR TRAILERS. Total waste of time and gas.
CHRISTOPHER PWoman at the counter was kind & professional. The truck was clean and all the equipment rented was available. It was a very easy rental and everything went smoothly. The location itself was great because it’s easy to back up and park the truck and it’s easily accessible. Overall, very satisfied and best U-Haul rental so far after 4-5 of them.

TRISTAN BThe person at the call centre who called me after I initially rented the van left a lot to be desired. She could hardly be understood because of all the noise going on in the background. She thought it was ok for me to have drive an hour away because the local dealers didn’t have a van available. Thankfully Miss Shannon at the location where I did pick up the van went above and beyond to help me get a van booked.

LILLIAN AI rented or returned U-Hauls from different locations in Fredericton. I didn’t always have a good customer experience. This is by far the best place to rent a U-Haul in Fredericton. Super friendly, knowledgeable and useful staff.
RENE LI asked for recommendations on what to purchase and what package, etc.. I didn’t get any advice and was charged $190 for 6 hours.. why wouldn’t they have recommended the day package, for cheaper, instead?

Also i was thankful that i received a refund for gas that i put in as it cost me over $15 of gas to fill it up and i hardly did any kms. So im guessing the previous person did not put gas in begore dropping off the van. The customer service person was very nice.

DWAYNE FThey changed my reservation 3 times. The last time they said the only truck they had available was an hr and half drive away. I had to drive my personal vehicle which cost me an extra $90 in gas then add the extra cost of fuel in the uhaul to get it to my location was another $50. So I'm out $140 in extra fuel cost let alone my time to get a truck cause someone over book my reservation. The first reason they told me was cause the truck wasn't going to be back till after I needed it. I asked why they allowed them to book over my reservation but no one wanted to answer. So note to other customers! Reservation to this company is just a suggestion!!!! Don't plan on it!!!

NORMAN Avery upset with this entire interaction first they didn't have the size truck I ordered them the switched me to a different location (that still didn't have the truck I ordered ) I extended 2 days but brought it back after one my receipt s are hard to read. but I definitely feel like I was overcharged and they are now saying I owe them a bunch more money but they have never even called me! horrible customer service if there is a problem CALl! truck was the worst thing I have ever driven, I had to hire someone to drive it as it was hard to turn or get to stop no one was at the office when I tried to call or stop by, I only k ow there is an issues because they tried to run my card 5 times! definitely something fishy going on
ROSEANNA AWrote no for second question as it was clean but the brakes were not good, when backing up made a noise ( could be a normal for backing up but usually that's a beep beep noise) was charge more then quoted, was told nothing about gas being added though that was included in rental , cause charge milage fee, what's that fee if it's not to pay for gas and maintenance.
