You need to included taxes and all other fees when you send a customer their reservation. Because when you state "DUE AT PICK UP generally that means that is the amount you owe. Therefore when you arrive at pick up you will not be surprised when you total is 100 more than the quoted reservation price. Also advising customers when you change the size of the truck they ordered, so there is also no surprise on pick up dayKelly R.
The van we picked up was severely out of alignment and a lot of shimming going on as drove on highway. Luckily only a short distance. Some noise and what not may have been caused by snow build up as had a storm night previous, not sure. Fellow we dealt with was super kind and patient.AARON MATTHEW M.

The cab was not very clean, one rear tire had a large crack in it, one rear tire was completely bald, the alignment was so off that I wasn't able to go over 80 without the truck almost tuning onto the shoulder, the headlights were dim and were pointing towards the side of the road instead of forward which made it extremely hard to see at night, and the steering wheel is not aligned properly which made it very uncomfortable to hold the wheel properly. The key was also bent from a previous renter which made it hard to put in the ignition (I literally had to hit the end of it hard with my fist to get it to go in deep enough to turn) Very dissatisfied with my experience, if I hadn't been on a time crunch I would have demanded a different truck. The only positive was that the check in process was efficient.Sylvain P.

Many problems: 1. The app did not work. Spent over 30 minutes on the phone waiting for assistance onsite. Call was disconnected on your end. Called and waited again for help. Guy arrived was pleasant but indicated there are lots of problems with the app. 2. The drivers side front tire didn't look safe to us. 3. There was no appliance dolly in the truck. We definitely ordered one when we booked. I emailed customer service about this and they told me I didn't order one. 4. My son dropped off the vehicle (he was on as a driver). He was asked for a debit card for payment. We were under the assumption that the credit card payment I gave online would be the payment method. Now I need to ensure I'm not being charged twice. For a company that handles thousands of rentals daily, it sure doesn't seem that your systems are working well. Gary SharpeGary S.

We spent a total of $520 on gas alone for the 15' truck! That's ridiculous!Seraphine Florid O.
There were a few issues with the U Haul system overall (though the woman at the location was quite helpful). First, I was NOT made aware that there would be a deposit of $125 prior to picking up the vehicle (good thing I had the money available). This should be made clear when making reservations, or even during the confirmation call before the day of pickup. Second, the original reservation done through the website said I was allowed up to 2 days and 460 km ( 286 miles). However, when returning the vehicle I was told I was over the allowed 148 miles and she had no info in her system about the 460km. Luckily, I grabbed a screenshot of the original reservation and upon showing that to her she removed the "extra mileage" charge. There is obviously miscommunication between UHaul and pickup locations that needs to be resolved as, had I not taken pictures of every single step of my process, I would have been out another $40. Third, if doing business in Canada, it would be best to have the Odometer and speedometer showing in Kilometers first, or even a digital readout since the thickness of the needle covers the km/h portion leading some to guesstimate their speeds. None of my issues are with the pick up location - they were great. It's U Haul's system that needs an overhaul.ERIC JAMES S.

Location fine - UHaul, not so much. Have UHauled often - reluctant to again. Booked a truck early then advised on Friday pm nothing available for the Monday reservation but they set us up with a truck 2+ hrs away. Cost was to be .89/mile (USD). Charge on final bill was in fact equal to 1.12 USD/mile. Irritating dishonest gouge.SUSANNAH RACHEL C.

Once I find another truck rental service I will not be going back to uhaul. I will not recommend uhaul to my friends or family and I will tell them about my only two experiences with uhaul to warn them of the complications that come with renting from the company. I did not deal with any staff except over the phone. I will be calling in later today to speak with a representative to remedy some of my issues.ALLISON W.

I am very pleased with my recent UHaul experience. The vehicle was in good working order, the staff at this location was very friendly and accommodating. When I arrived to pick up my trailer, one of the tires was completely bald and two of tires read 2/32nds and the forth tire read 3/32nds. I was told to take it to a tire shop myself to get only two tires put on but when I arrived to the shop they recommend I needed all four just as I thought. The Uhaul location did credit me $35 for my rental but seeing as this was a rotational unit I would have thought they would have caught these unsafe tires long before getting to the point of a complete change. I certainly hope they complete a thorough walk around of all units, especially those that are mechanical, upon return but this trailer seemed to have been missed on many previous returns to allow the tires to get as worn as they did.TIMOTHY PAUL S.

The self check out process was lengthy and not very user friendly. The lock on the back of the truck was difficult to get open, I called the recommended number for assistance, but reached a person in Nova Scotia who was not able to do anything to help. U-Haul should recommend that customers arrive 15 minutes earlier to start the check out process or allow the customer to complete a portion of the check-in process in advance.Christopher H.
