My comments are NOT directed to the Blue Flame location as I had to return the truck after hours when they were closed. My concern was with U-Hauls phone automated service, along with the phone chat feature. When I clicked on the return location notification that was sent to my I-Phone the app either just cycled and cycled or said that it couldn't recognize my location due to my security settings. I rechecked my settings a couple of times, which was strange receiving that message as it worked when I picked the truck up originally in Rock Hill, SC…no issues there. I tried calling the U-Haul 1-800 # and said the wait was 15 to 20 mins. I held on for over an hour and no one ever picked up. Then I tried using U-Haul's chat feature and explained my situation. The individual kept asking me to check my phone settings and said I might be using the wrong website link. But I explained several times that I was trying to connect using U-Haul's link that was sent to me and my phone security settings were off. I don't think the chat individual understood what was going on and was no help. Never apologized for the wait or if there was another alternative. Basically, reading from a script. Finally, I called the Rock Hill location after they opened and explained what was going on. They apologized and I left the keys in the lock box at the Blue Flame location. Rock Hill was very helpful. I've rented from U-Haul more than 15 times over the years both local and long-haul one way trips with all those experiences very satisfying. I'll continue to use your service in the future as the need arises. However, I wanted to make you aware that I believe someone needs to look into your on-line website linkage, as well as instruct chat assistance for such issues as they may arise. I've worked in the customer service arena for over 30 years and you can tell that this instance got my attention. Thank you.

Just need to check store hours. Says 9 am but they don't open till 11 am. Had to wait two hours to pick up - once they opened things move quickly and they were great to work with

Service was slow and difficult. Trailer had a flat tire, which we had to wait to get replaced. The tire they used to replace it with had a slow leak through the valve stem and was almost completely flat by the time I got home, about 15 miles. Perfect example of a business doing the absolute bare minimum to get by, and nothing more. Would not recommend.

I reserved my truck online and went to pick it up and the location was closed even though it was during normal operating hours. When the business owner was called he was a bit rude over the phone and said we would have to wait until he got there to get the keys. I called customer service and the man on the phone was very helpful and nice about fixing the time so I wouldn't be charged more for the owner not being there.

Your website said “come in we are open” but arriving at location - it was closed. An employee happened to be picking up his own car and called owner who came and made rental happen. Thanks to Renee I was able to move last of my belongings from sold house. You need to know which of your sites have shut down!!!

I am very dissatisfy with u haul. I returned the tow dolly to McCormick, SC., which is the location on my rental agreement. now I am being charged $60.00 for not taking it to another location. My contract # is 85218628. I an not paying you $60.00 because U haul changed the location.

I reserved a 10-ft truck online. When I got to the dealer, he said he had not any 10-ft trucks in quite a while and didn't understand why I was allowed to reserve a 10-ft truck online from his store. The only trucks he had were 26-ft trucks and he was nice enough to let me have one at the 10-ft price. I had to haul 6 bar stools over 300 miles in a 26-FT TRUCK!

I think that if you'll be more interested on the surrounding cities concerning miles it would help to get more customers to willingly to rent hauls I went online to rent a 10 truck & it was Available I ended up with a 15 which I did not mind but I am on disability and I have moved twice in a month, due to personal situation, and. I ended up spending $123 which was very expensive for us to not know until we come to pick up the uhaul. I have to say that the people were very nice to us. I just feel like we were not done right when we were quoted online $76 for a 10 truck, if it wasn't Available then we should have been called before assuming that we could afford it for the 15 truck. Then we were allowed only 35 miles to move stuff from liberty SC to Anderson SC WHICH IS not understanding to me because I have rented in Florida and we were quoted with all mileage neccessary but we filled up the uhaul after we were done. My reasoning for the message is that I feel that my business wasn't the important thing to receive what I ask in the first place and then your company just put us where they wanted us costing us money without knowing firsthand for our approval. I don't mind paying for what I have to pay for, but it wasn't appropriate to just not ask me about changing my $ amount and if the truck I had ordered wasn't a available, thenceforth I should have been called before I arrived. I wasn't very pleased with this it makes me have a sour taste for this business but you seem to think that I am okay with this knowledge of your behavior to just put me in something that I didn't approve. I overall like Uhaul but I will take it to corporate. I feel like you've overcharged us.It opened up my eyes to the next time I go to uhaul rental stores and I will make sure nothing like this happens again! I believe that if it's honored online by Uhaul then it should be what customers receive when picking up and drop off. Thanks for the inconvenience of the financial crisis in the way that I was handled just assumed that it was okay. The people who have dealt with me were very nice.

The pick up location couldn't have been any better! The man that helped us was nice, friendly, personable, etc. We were upset when we got there and he had us laughing when we were leaving. Now for my explanation of why as to why we were upset. I am not happy with AT ALL with Uhaul. I received a call when I was an hour into my 3 hour trip to pick up the Uhaul I reserved and was told my original location didn't have a truck for me but Uhaul would be calling me with where I could get one. NO ONE CALLED. I end up having to call Uhaul to find out where I was to go. I was told LAVONIA, GA. I was headed to Seneca, SC, so going to Lavonia, GA was NOT an option. I was VERY upset as I had no choice but to get a Uhaul to move my son out of his apartment - he HAD to be out that day. The lady on the phone (Katherine) proceeds to tell me that Uhaul does NOT guarantee that a truck will be at the pick up location of your choice. Now this is the first I am hearing of this even though she says I should have been told. When I called to reserve the truck, I spoke to Shy, she never mentioned that. Matter of fact, I have rented a Uhaul 4 times now and NO ONE has EVER told me that there was no guarantee. I would love for someone to go back and listen to my calls and verify that. I paid over $167 to rent this 26' truck from this location in Pickens when what I was supposed to get was a 20' truck in Seneca. I truly believe Uhaul should refund me some money as I feel I should be charged the amount I was supposed to be charged when I was to originally pick up in Seneca. It wasn't by any fault of mine and I had NO idea that you didn't guarantee anything. By the way, how ridiculous is it that you book ALL these reservations on the same day, knowing you aren't going to have enough trucks, to basically put YOUR PAYING customers in a bind. Shame on Uhaul for your shady business practices and shame on you for the lack of sympathy when you put someone in a bind that has no other choice but to get a truck from you. If there was another company I could rent from going forward, believe me, I would. As I told Katherine on the phone, I would say thank you but I don't feel as if you did much of anything for me to be thanked for.

We were told one price on the phone and a higher price when we got there . They also charged us for 100 mile trip, I checked the actual miles we went it added up to 32 miles. Very fraudulent practices will tell everyone we meet not to use this business.

You are trying to charge me an extra day for a 4 day rental contract saying it was a 3 day. That is an error. Instead of immediate refund by customer service she says it will be reviewed and paid back maybe in 3-5 days. This is bad business and I am not happy

Gave us the keys and said the truck was behind the building. Looked for the truck but it wasn't there. Found the truck and it was wedged between a junk car and some car trailers with a tow truck and another uhaul truck blocking our exit. My friend helped me try to move out but after a few inches I scratched the car next to the truck. I immediately stopped when I realized that the truck couldn't exit until the other vehicles were moved. The lady tried to get the truck out, but after walking around the truck and inspecting the situation, realized that it was not possible. She said give her 10 minutes and she would move the vehicles. When we asked if we could get another vehicle she said it was already in the computer. She moved the other uhaul truck and the other vehicle and drove the vehicle partly out. When I questioned if there was ample space she said that she moved trucks in and out all day long and there was plenty of space. I called the office when I got home to let her know that the gas tank was not 3/4 full as she had told me but a little less than 1/2 full. She said to go ahead and let the people in Rock Hill know the situation when I turned it in and if there was a problem to call her. The folks in Rock Hill were very courteous and took care of the gas question when I turned in the truck. They were already on duty before the posted opening time and said everything was fine and I could head out.

Truck was very dirty we had to sweep out mub and leaves out of the back before we could even put out stuff in it. Truck was on empty not 1/4 tank we had to go straight to the gas station and was affraid we wouldnt make it before it ran out of gas. When I took it back it had way over half a tank I lost alot ot money on their gas issue.

My trailer was full of leaves inside when I rented it, However, this location truly does not open till 9, at 8am no one was there, 8:15 no one, 8:30 no one, 8:45 someone drove up and said they have obligations daily so the times for this place should be adjusted to 9am. There is no one at this location at 5pm, so please note no assistance after 5.

I remted a pick up the tail gate would not open . Then i kept the truck one more day and went over the miles and payed the 199.34 which was no problem but the next day i was charged another 44$ .

My rental experience was not as I expected. We rented a 27ft uhaul truck from Blue Flame Tire & Auto in Pickens, Pick up time was 7:45pm. We arrived at 7:15pm and the office was closed. I called the uhaul customer service line and spent 40 minutes on the phone with her while she tried to contact the owner and area manager. She finally transferred me to another lady who worked on trying to find me another vehicle. We wanted the uhaul for 24 hours. Our plan was to load it during the night and unload it the next day so we really needed the vehicle that night. She was finally able to find a location open until 8pm. At this time it was 2 minutes before closing. They were gracious enough to set up an after hours pick up. On the way to pick up the vehicle the regional manager called me. He was extremely helpful! When we arrived to the vehicle I attempted to do the rental via my cell phone. However when I logged in I did not have the option to "rent my truck" so I had to call the area manager again. He tried to help me gain access to the truck but he did not know the location of the key. He was able to reach the store manager and he informed him where the key was. This while process was not a fast process either. I was there over an hour trying to get this truck. During the final process of renting the truck the area manager mentioned that I was going to have to bring the truck back to that location by 8pm. I informed him that I was told they set up a one way transport because this location was 20 miles from my home. I had movers (through uhaul) set up tp come the next evening so I knew I would not be able to get the vehicle back by that time. He changed my rental to a one way but I ended up having to pay a lot more. The initial rental was going to cost me $50 and now I had to pay almost $180! Since the process took so long the area manager set up for me to have a return time in Pickens for 9pm. During the process we lost 3 hours of moving time and it was very frustrating! The next day we got a call from our movers that they were out of town and would be late coming to move us. He informed me that he had a friend that owned a local moving company and he would call them to help us if we couldn't wait. Since I knew the vehicle had to be back by 9pm I told him to please try to get another crew. He was able to locate another crew but this still put us behind on our move time. The guys worked their allotted time and left my house at 9pm. Therefore we were unable to return the vehicle until 9:20pm. This of course cost us even more money. I would like to be compensated for all the overages on this uhaul rental experience. Non of these extra costs were my fault. It all began when the initial store (Blue Flame Auto & Tire) was closed.
