Had difficulty with the pick-up which ended up costing us nearly $200 extra. Originally, I had reserved a 15ft truck in Plainview with an appliance dolly and a dozen packing blankets. A few days prior to my arrival, "Tammy" calls me and says I have to pick up my 15ft truck in Tulia. She said extra miles would be given. Tulia is not too far so I said okay. When I get to the Tulia site, no one is around despite being told their office would open at 8 AM. Waited until about 8:20 AM and called the number I had. The person I spoke to said everything would be handled over the phone and that there were no appliance dollies or blankets at this site. I expressed deep concern as the moving we were doing was dependent upon the appliance dolly. The Tulia person told me to go to the Plainview site and pick up the appliance dolly and blankets. After some difficulty in checking out, we went to Plainview and was told there was no way I could rent an appliance dolly as I had already checked out at Tulia. I even called "Tammy" back and she told me the same thing and that she didn't care if I left a bad review. Fortunately, for what we were moving. Harbor Freight was open and we bought an appliance dolly (spending a lot more money than anticipated). This experience was extremely frustrating, time consuming, and we were made to feel like U Haul didn't care what happened to us. I also feel like this was U Haul's fault as there was no way for us (the customer) to know the Tulia site wouldn't have everything we needed in our reservation. Extremely poor customer service that morning.
