The 26' truck is definitely "well used". Makes all sorts of weird noises. It still starts and moved all of my stuff, which is the important part!

Your site said it was experiencing “technical difficultiesâ€. The man at the desk at Caldwells was very slow, unhelpful and unfriendly. There were no moving blankets in the truck that I rented, so I had to go to Harbour Freight and spend $30 buying some, making us even more behind. It was not a great experience at all.

Wheels rusted, dent in the box area, squeaky doors that didn't shut well, horrible gas mileage, very few niceties within the cab, completely uncomfortable third seat (jump seat, advertised as three seats in the cab). It was clean. The size of the box was accurate. The lady checking me in was super nice/kind/helpful. Daily rate plus $0.99/mi for a truck that may get 7-8 mpg, seemed excessive for such a worn out vehicle.
Paul P.I paid $40 + $14 insurance on Saturday. I checked in online but there was gentlemen there that helped me in person. I put a gallon of gas in it, as we were moving in town 1 mile down the road and made only one trip. I was exhausted and I'm a hurry when I returned the truck, so I did not correctly check out online I simply parked it and dropped the keys in the box. I was charged $106 and I think that is a little ridiculous especially with how much everything costs these days ($30 service fee is complete rubbish)
Dominic V.My rental experience was the worst that I have ever encountered. I made a reservation on May 21st to pick up a 10 “ Truck from downtown Indianapolis. The Friday before I was to pick-up the truck from downtown- Someone from traffic or customer service call to inform me that A 10†was not available at that location, but U-Haul had a 15' truck at the U-Haul location at 2960 Lafayette RD on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 for a 2:45. And I would not be charged for the upgrade. “Like I was looking for the huge tuck to m ove my son out of his efficiency apt. My original appointment was for 7am- I informed the customer service rep that I needed a 7am pick as I need to be back in Chicago around 2:45 -3:00pm. Upon arrive of the location at 7am I was checked in a truck that was not clean and later found to be unsafe- as I was drive I noticed the the truck pulled to right. 15 mins later I pulled over to inspect the vehicle a second time to learn to the the truck had a flat tire. I called the 800 # where I was told to call road side service. I entered te truck and made it back to the 2960 location and inform the agent that the torch had a flat tire. I was told that that had no other trucks available within 100 miles and that I would receive 100% refund. I requested the agent call around to location me a truck as I needed that day. The agent inform Melissa that she need to provide me with the number to traffic and they would need to find me a truck. No one answered the so call traffic number. After a couple hour of attempt to connect with some. I rec'd a call letting me know that a 15†truck was available in Avon and that If I wanted it I need to start drive that way as they close at 11am. The customer rep told me that 50.00 would be taken off my bill and I wouldn't have to pay for the additional miles. Needless to said That I was charged for the full rental with no deduction at told to me. What a dishonest company. I sure that nothing will be done. But I need to share my experience. I hope that by U-Haul taking advantage of the customer help in obtaining its top line profits. AGAINN WHAT A SHITTY AND DISHONEST COMPANY. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST MY COMMENT IN YOUR UP COMING BOARD MEETING OR FRANCHISE OWNERS MEETING. As far as Cadwells Corners Auto Repair LLC. Thanks for the clean and well maintained truck. Wendy M.The trailer was clean however it was worn out. Everything looked great at time of pickup however on the trip home I heard a loud popping noise. Upon arriving home I found the leaf spring on the drivers side was busted. After several calls to roadside assistance a mechanic was sent to my house at 10:15 at night! He then found more issues with tires and wheel bearings. This put me behind loading the trailer an entire day.

SHANNON D.First I reserved in advance and received confirmation that two furniture dolleys and two appliance dolleys would be waiting on me and none were available when picked up the truck. No solution was offered I had to find alternatives. Secondly the truck was in terrible condition … check engine light was on all the time and I was told to drive the truck until I had a problem…not a very safe feeling. The truck was bone dry with no oil, I had to buy two quarts of oil to even get it to register on the dip stick. Next the Uhaul app never worked properly- a real pain to return the truck because they were closed early and never warned or said anything about the early closure. I checked the truck out with 3/4 of a tank and brought it back with 3/4 of a tank of gas but was then charged for a fuel charge ? When I called and asked why all I was told was “that's what the computer says and I can't do anything about it “ even though I had photos of both the pick up and return showing the gauge was at 3/4. This is more about principal than the $10.00 worth of gas. The agent first laughed at me and couldn't believe I was making a big deal over $10.00 worth of gas on a $200 rental. Then she just got rude when I pressed the issue to be resolved. She said she would refund the fuel charge but never has. The agent at pick up was so rude not sure why she would even be in a customer service position. I will say you've lost a Uhaul customer over the completely miserable experience.
