On Saturday, March 15, I booked online for rent a U-Haul at Carolina mini Storage in Greenville ( 3201 Moseley Dr, Greenville Nc). I need the U-Haul bc I need to get a set of Couch and the loveseat then i got an reservation number and I have to pick up a U-Haul vehicle at 8:30 pm and I had to return the vehicle at that location at 12 am. Honestly, I had been book online on U-Haul App a lot of times and I alway booked online and I love the convenience on the App bc i can do self check in & check out so easy and i never got any problem. I like to get reservation online bc I always get off work late at night. For sure sure I never get any problem with that but this time i got a problem and I was so mad and here reason why i got mad, I swear of God I didn't know the location I picked up the U-Haul will close the gate after 10:00 Pm and after I finished everything and I drove the U-Haul vehicle back to that location at 10:10 bc I had to return U-Haul vehicle before 12:00 Am andddddddd the gate at that location is close, completely closeeee, I tried to crawl under the gate to the door of the office and I saw 2 phones numbers on the door, one for emergency and one for call the office something, I tried to call the emergency number 4 times to ask about the code to open the gate for i can be able to return the vehicle on time and I left the record message 3 times and no no no no body answer ( what kind of emergency phone number is that???????) I was at the gate more than 30 minutes and the one police drive by and he saw me and he stop over and asked me what's going on and he told me I had to go home bc he didn't know any phone number to call the owner of that location and I had to return the vehicle next day and I have to pay extra 35 dollars for stupid reason. And after that I got home and tried to contact U-Haul to let they know the reason why I'm not return the vehicle on time to void the extra fee and again I had to wait on the phone almost 30 minutes and no no no no bodyyyyy answers. Your supposed to be let me know that location will be close the door at 10:00 Pm or y'all supposed to be contact with that location about the gate code for customer can return the vehicle on time or anytime.... So so so so bad service!!!!Phu N.

The first time I used U-Haul the truck was newer and nicer. This one was okay.Elizabeth L.
First time renting from u-haul and I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. I Grabbed a 10 ft truck and auto transport for the day. I had to pick up my 98 jeep cherokee that had a blown head gasket and left me stranded 75 miles away from home. This pair from u-haul worked out beautifully. One reason is because you have the vehicle fully secure on a platform. The other reason is because the dolly u-haul offers, though cheaper, could honestly really mess up your vehicle worse than it already was, that is if the drive shaft isn't completely removed. It is suggested by u-haul that it be completely removed, as well as your owners manual. Having your vehicle up on a dolly and be driven around for any extended period of time is harmful to your vehicle. I only say this because most people strap in the front two wheels turn the vehicle to accessories but the vehicle in neutral and go. If you do choose to do that at least consult your owner's manual or any forum on your specific vehicle. It was verrrrrrry windy on the way home. And the equipment handled perfectly. No problems what so ever. I would absolutely recommend towing your vehicle thru u-haul over having a tow service do it. That is if you have a bit of distance to go. It ended up being UNDER $200. The cheapest tow I could get was $400 for a flat bed to pick it up, after calling eight different wrecker services. So kudos to u-haul for offering this truck and trailer combo at an affordable rate. Sorry for the long review, im hoping maybe it can help someone who is considering towing thru u-haul or have someone do more research before using the vehicle dolly option. Also the guy at Carolina Mini Storage at Eastgate was awesome. He knows his business, was very informative, and gave me pointers on my trailer. Will definitely be back for any u-haul needs!Brandon R.

Price per mile is high. And if advertised for $19.95, it should be $19.95 plus the miles and not all the additional charges. I had no dolly in the truck I drove. That probably cost extra too though.Summer C.

The tongue/receiver of the 6x12 trailer I got was very heavy. It took two employees and myself to safely lift it onto the hitch. At the drop off location they had stands that the receiver was set on to to make it much easier to hitch and unhitch the trailer due to less movement. If the location I picked up from had this stand and some wheel chocks(due to grade in parking lot) hitching the trailer would have been much easier and safer. Employees at the pick up location went above and beyond in my opinion. Also the spinning ball lock thing on the coupler sucks. Does not really lock, feeling of uncertainty about the safety of this style ball lock. Also anyone could just come along, unspin the nut and steal the trailer. For big trailers make 2â€ standard and 1.75 for smaller and get standard couplers. Anyone who doesn't have the proper draw bar/ball could maybe rent one?micheal H.

The manager at the location was a champ, the corporate Uhaul office however caused me nothing but aggravation. Worst experience in a long time. We used their "self-check out" system and had nothing but problems. U haul you need to get your act together and focus on getting the customer experience right with this new app. This customer did not appreciate the 1 hour (+) delay in trying to get their vehicle rented.James R.

Vehicles dropped off should be recorded as "full" VERSUS 7/8 or 3/4. This caused a discrepancy because the drop-off location stated that it 3/4 needed to be put back in the vehicle versus the 7/8 that was in the vehicle when we received it.mindy P.

Upon completing the necessary paper work and hooking up to the trailer, the store operator discovered one of the 5x8 trailer tail light bulbs was not working. He refused to go get a replacement, so I bought a replacment lenses and bulb kit from Advance Auto and installed it myself, and it worked perfect. I am hoping the return dealer will credit my purchase back to my credit card.jeff B.
