The truck was dirty and smelled like smoke

I am currently waiting for management to contact me for a complaint. I dropped off the trailer on time and at the agreed upon date. I got a call a few days later asking if I dropped the trailer off at the date and time, I told them yes. Daniela calls me today saying she called all the lots and no one said I turned the trailer in. I asked if I needed to go to the place I turned it in and she said that would be best. I’m a retired State Trooper and a current police officer, I’m very upset, I’m being accused of a felony by keeping their 10,000 dollar trailer I turned in where they told me to turn it in. I go to the lot and talked with the worker I turned the trailer in to and the owner of the lot. He said they rented the trailer the same day I turned it in and that he talked with Joe from uhaul who was supposed to take care of it and he showed me the contract that showed someone else had rented the trailer. I had rented from uhaul before and I dropped off the equipment on time at the designated place and never had any problems. Thank God Cars Plus were honorable people and straightened the situation out. I can’t help but feel very upset with uhaul for not keeping up with their paperwork and causing me all this grief that I even had to drive back to the drop off place to straighten there screw up out! This is inexcusable and will file my formal complaint!
