No instructions, it was confusing and telephone number on location uncaring . Took me 1/2 hour to get key and van thanks to direct call to U-Haul

Francois MI had made reservations at one location and got an email saying the pick would be in another location. There was no reason for this change as on the day (after having great difficulty getting the key to the vehicle of the lock box) I called the original pickup location, and they were perplexed as to why I was told there was no vehicle available at their site for one was sitting in their driveway. I choose the original location because it would have a live person present on the day of pick up to make sure all went smoothly and because it was closer to my home. I was very UNHAPPY when I arrived too the new location to find no one there, the building locked and the key boxes with no clear directions on how to get the key. It required me to figure out the various steps on the internet, sign in to and create an app, get info from my email etc. UHAUL is wrong in assuming that everyone has the skill to navigate these steps, has phones which have all those abilities, etc. and that everyone had their email and apps on their phone. I had to give the person with me my personal info for this to be done. Something I did not want to do. If this person did not know how to do this I would not have been able to do the move, plus I wasted precious moving time on the day and the travel cost me more money in milage to and from my house and again from the location to where I was going. I should not be expected to turn into an employee for UHAUL when I rent a vehicle. You are the buisness, provide the needed services. Terrible customer service.

Larry CThe location is totally unmarked as a U-Haul dealer or any other business. There was nothing but the address out front to indicate we were in the right place. The parking is behind the building, hidden from the street, and very small and tight. I was returning a car-hauling trailer with a 40' motorhome, so parking the trailer or turning around in the lot was impossible. When I had called U-Haul's toll-free number before I ever picked the trailer up, the woman on the phone assured me it had to have room or it wouldn't be a dealer. Ha! The person at the place WAS very friendly and helpful. We decided I could drop the trailer in the grass and he would use another U-Haul truck to move it after I backed out. I would not recommend this location, because it is not a good physical location, and there isn't always a person in attendance - I got lucky.

Tercelino TI had a minor issue with the fuel level where I was charged a surcharge when i should not have been. I brought this to the managers attention. He said he would correct the situation and he did.

Roger BI got bitched at by some lady for where I parked the trailer. I needed the trailer off to move my belongings, but because I needed to detach the car, it wasn't worth hooking/rehooking. The place didn't like where I parked the trailer, but the lot was filled with junk, and once I pulled in, it was not possible to back up and reorient the spot in which to ditch the trailer. I didn't appreciate being yelled at as much as they didn't like that I didn't have another place to put the trailer.
Jared CThe outside of the trailer was filthy I had to bring it to a car wash. I was supposed to pick up the trailer at a location two miles from my house. I ended up having to drive over 40 miles to a different location.
CARMINEP RThey had a 20’ truck, I rented the 15’. I knew I needed more space, I inquired about the larger truck, but this dealer wouldn’t rent me the 20’ because the 20’ was not a one-way truck.

Mike MI rented a U-Haul picked it up at night woke up the next day to go load the van with my belongings at my house and started to smell burning. Wires . Called roadside assistance waited 8 hours on the side of the road the. Was told to leave the vehicle and the key and it will be picked up next day there is a road side file number to prove . I was promised re reemburs never receive

Dennis AThe pick up location was great, very friendly and professional. The U-Haul corporation has a lot to be desired. They waited until the evening before I was scheduled to pick up the equipment to call and tell me I had to go four counties away, a 90 minute drive each way, to get the equipment instead of my local dealer 2 miles from my house. They should have transported the equipment to my dealer or given me more notice. Not a great business model. What happened to customer service being job #1?

Herminio NI ordered a dozen blankets, which were not in the truck as I was told they would be. Called 3 times to try to get some, waited on hold over 20 minutes each time, never got any. I was told I would be refunded for the charge, but never was.
Roland WThis location does not accept returns and is not actually in business at this address. I had to return the truck at another U-Haul location without any guidance or assistance - wait times on hold were 30+ minutes and there is no chat function on the website. Just a huge mess, will never rent from U-Haul again for a one way move.
Eric PHard to tell from just the reservation info that we'd have to drive around to the back of the building to find the truck - no signs except for seeing the truck back there - but after that it was smooth sailing, there's no need to have anyone there to help you, just use the uhaul site on your phone and you'll get a code to get the keys out of the lock box. If you need help from someone, maybe do not choose this location as that could get confusing and they're closed on the weekend.

Gregory EContactless pick up is a little confusing. It would.be smart to give customers a heads up with what to expect. Perhaps give them an opportunity to upload documents needed beforehand. A passport!? The truck was clean and ready though. Once I got through the process, I was on my way.

joanne cMy original pick up date/time was for Sunday. When arriving to pick up self truck and following all instructions the truck was completely blocked in by another U-Haul and I could not get the truck out. I then called the company where truck was stored and then were off for the day. I called U-Haul they told me it could be fixed and I waited on the phone back and forth for two hours while they tried to make new accommodations then finally said they would give me another truck on the lot, they then did the contract and gave me the numbers and that truck too was blocked in. They told me there was nothing they could do and that they could only accommodate me at another location which was 45 minutes from mahwah. This was absurd as we were already waiting around two hours I had to cancel my move for the day and try again the following day. The following day all went well however I am now being charged to separate charges and would like an explanation. Our U-Haul experience was horrible and I would never recommenced again to anyone
