I didn’t realize it was completely self service. If I had a friend new to truck rentals, I would direct them to a full service dealer. The truck was clean, but the app would not let me check out the truck. Luckily, the field rep was close by and he was able to get me on my way. The truck displayed a warning about the traction control after about 10 miles of highway driving. I texted the field rep to see if it was safe to take it on my 200 mile journey. I still have not heard back from him- 3 days after I picked up the truck.

Your truck was a piece of junk and should not have been rented out. Upon arrival to my destination, the truckbox leaked and my belongings were wet and a bookcase was damaged and ruined and we had to open multiple boxes and wash the clothes, buy new boxes and returned to our new storage space. Very disappointed for the time to do the claim when I sent the pictures in and I should not have to go thru all the hassle and paperwork that will probably get me much of nothing in reimbursement. The truck had been repaired extensively and should never have been rented. Unfortunately, I’m the victim with the hassle and I’m contemplating whether to continue with the claim. From the pictures I sent to Shannon Ellard, the field rep for Uhaul in Knoxville Tennessee, whom was a great and helpful person, should be able to figure out the compensation for something that will probably pay out a couple hundred dollars at most. The value of the bookcase around $75 and new boxes and time to wash clothes and buy new boxes and repack. Otherwise not sure it’s worth my my time to continue with the claim. I was charged an extra day for my uhaul, when I returned it before the assigned time. I was supposed to have a three day rental and I returned it at noon on the third day. My paperwork said to return it by 5 PM. I was charged $40 for an extra day. When I rented the U-Haul, all it said was $644 for the U-Haul. It did not say, how many miles it was just for a specific number of days. I was charged over $400 for being late to return it supposedly and for overage on miles which I never knew about when I rented it. They allowed miles on it. We’re not even enough to get me from Knoxville to Mattoon Illinois.

I wanted to pick my rental up from a Uhaul location with a staff person who could help me with checkout. I was reassigned to this location which was not open at the time of my pickup. Then my vehicle was not present at the location for me to pick up. I had to make several calls to the hotline to complete my reservation and had to take a larger truck than the one I wanted.

The store is a hemp shop. The person working there admitted that he knew nothing about the rental drop off. He told me that "I just rent them the parking lot." On my next U-haul rental I will know to ask for a real U-haul office for a drop off. I got through the app return but was difficult and frustrating for someone over 70, these phone apps are not user friendly.

I didn’t know where to park it due to the small size of the lot and the amount of trucks currently on the lot but thankfully a U-Haul representative arrived and moved the truck to another location. I think that it would have been more helpful to be able to drop off the truck at a location closer to my address of residency.

Fix the dropoff procedure in the app to work correctly , so when dropping off at a un-manned location, i dont have to make a bunch of calls to try and close the dropoff on the truck.

They did not have the size truck I reserved, then sent me to a mobile location and gave no directions on how to obtain the truck. By the time we finally got a truck we were 1 1/2 hours behind. Very stressful experience will never rent from there again.

The truck was quite messy inside, quite a bit of trash from whoever used it last. I know that a renter should be responsible enough to clean it out, but it's U-haul's product so I would think whoever is offering your product would inspect these vehicles for this type of thing before renting to the next user. Also, someone smoked in the unit, and it wreaked, ashes were in the vinyl/plastic driver side door handle- i guess that was their temporary ash tray, and the windows must have been cracked some way because that morning it was about 25 degrees in Knoxville and the inside of the windshield had ice on it as well. No one expects to have to deal with ice on the inside of a vehicle. As I mentioned above, it's your product that is being "sold" here by those renting your product, so it's important to make sure your brand is represented in a certain way. I stopped about 3 miles down Chapman Hwy at another U-haul rental location and while the attendant was very helpful and thoughtful, by about 845-9am anything he had as a one-way 15 footer or larger was already gone for the day. I do appreciate his attempts to help me. When he called the traffic line to see what was availble elsewhere, it seemed like that would be a stretch too, so I had not choice then but to use the vehicle for the day.

Person working didn't know lock code. Truck was in bad shape when I picked it up and had to spend almost an hour driving to another location to get a different one.

When I originally made the appt, I wanted it to be in person because I have never used this company before. The morning of, it was switched to online check-in. Upon arrival the truck was padlocked and the code that was supposed to be sent to me was not. The app and the website were not working for me and I had to call customer service where they also did not understand what the issue was and couldn’t figure it out. An hour later and a reset of the app and we were finally able to use it. Due to this, I am requesting some type of reimbursement because we could not use the truck for the first hour it was rented due to an error on U-Haul’s behalf.

This location was horrible. The place is in a sketchy part of town and there were no directions as to how to proceed. Additionally, I originally booked a pick up location 7 miles from my home in order to limit my mileage usage. The morning of my rental, I was informed that my pick up location has been changed to a location **15 miles** away from my home. This means that half of my mileage usage for the rental would be consumed just to get back to my home. I ended up paying additional mileage fees due to Uhaul changing my reservation.
