It was a last minute decision that we needed to borrow a trailer. The u-haul place was open on a Sunday and a trailer was available. Great customer service at a reasonable price. It worked out great!

When I entered the store the female employee asked what I needed. When I said I was returning the truck she said she was sick of dealing uhaul today. She didn't say anything else to me & went over to the other counter where the Male employee offered to do it. He was much nicer & professional & got me on my way quickly.

Reduce the ongoing steps at time of pickup to get truck on your phone. Constant webpage of asking for information, validating with another person via phone, Omg !!!@.rent the truck already. Far too many steps to pick up truck. Your CEO. Could never do this without help. A drivers license and credit card should be the only thing you need.

Attendant started out not so friendly, had to hook my own trailer up and the bed was never swept out. Had cigarette butts, screws, sticks and dirt in it.

We had a “confirmed reservation”for a 20' truck, which was made 3 weeks before the pickup date. Two days before the pickup, we were sent notice via email that the reservation had been cancelled because the equipment we reserved was not found within 60 miles of our desired pick up location (a large city in WI). Not speaking to the customer and working on an alternate plan is very unprofessional of your company and cancelling a reservation is an extreme inconvenience to your customer. Our plans could not be altered - moving day is a big event involving many moving parts to the plan. We, the customer, had to seek out help by calling several different contacts within your company to get assistance. After spending several hours on the phone, we were told our reservation was reinstated. HOWEVER, we were informed the equipment - a 20' truck - was only available in a town 2 hours from our home. We had to make that work at our end - we did drive those 2 hours each way to pick up the truck, then proceed with our move over the next few days. WE WERE TOTALLY STUCK and let down by your company, even though we were told, of course, when we made the reservation we were “confirmed”. This was very misleading and untruthful. During COVID-19, a company your size with the resources you have should make sure you figure out how to honor your reservations and keep your customers happy. We will never recommend U-Haul to anyone because of the terrible experience we had with your company. We will also tell about the poor customer service you provided to us by cancelling our reservation without even consulting us first, then making us travel over 100 miles each way to secure “the only truck available for us”.

I returned truck at about midnight and was not due back til 10 am and receive message that I was late when I called was told cause I turned it in after hours I would be charged again. And when I went to get the truck took 45 minutes because of the Internet and so technically I shouldn't of had to return til 1044 am. But I won't recommend u haul to anyone

I despise U-Haul as a company and have for nearly 30 years. I try not to rent U-Haul, but this instance it served my purpose. The trucks are not nice to drive and they hold significantly less that similarly sized Penske trucks.

The people at the Cheapo Depot were very nice and easy to work with. U-Haul overall, I will not use again and I will never recommend U-Haul to a friend. I had reserved a 10' truck at Cheapo Depot in Prairie du Chien, WI for 10:30am and got a call the night before my trip that there was not a 10' truck available in Prairie du Chien, and that I would need to pick one up in Cassville, adding 1.5 hours to my trip to get to Elkader, IA. I said that would not work, so then there was supposed to be a 20' truck in Prairie du Chien 1.25 hours later than my original pick up time at 11:45am so I said that will have to work. I arrived on time and the 20' truck was NOT there. I waited at Cheapo Depot for 20 minutes so I could work with the staff on what we could do. They were very understanding and helpful and said that a 10' truck was due back at 4:00 pm (now 5.5 hours later than my original pick up time). They said which ever one shows up first, I could have. I drove to Elkader, IA (35 minutes), then back to Cheapo Depot (35 more minutes) when the 10' showed up, then back to Elkader (35 MORE minutes) to finally start packing up. This major delay impacted the rest of my holiday weekend because now I was 6 hours behind schedule and extremely unhappy. I had chosen my drop-off location to be Integrity Auto in Menomonie, WI, but SURPRISE, U-Haul decided to change that on me, as well. I had to drop off at a different location in Menomonie.

Alice was perhaps one of the rudest individuals I have ever experienced in my 30 -+ years as A Big Box store manager. Absolutely not the individual I would want representing my organization. I had an email from Uhaul stating a return date of May 25th. I received a call from Alice on 5 -23 telling me she needed the truck and where was it. I stated that The truck was reserved until Monday 5-25 per Uhauls documented email message to myself. She then proceeded to tell me if I didn't bring the truck back she would report it as stolen and dispatch the Police. If I had any issue with her request she would not be able to assist me. Woman running the place was very rude and hateful, obnoxious! Tried to tell me my trailer had been checked and ready to go, it wasn't. Half the lights did not work, tried telling me it was my truck! It wasn't! She told me that SHE had inspected it, it was a lie! Something needs to be done about her!

This location has a limited number of vehicles, so the type you want may not be available and you will need to go to a different location or settle for a vehicle that is not your first choice. On the other hand, the location is convenient and efficient.

Only thing I didn't like is your policy changed. You use to have a half day rental on small open top 5×9 trailers for local round trip rentals. Now you don't I paid for 24hour rental only used it little over 2 hours. But keep up the good work otherwise.

Everything went perfect. The trailer we needed was there and ready to go, I gave all my information, signed the papers, and we were on our way. When I returned it, I was given my receipt, thanked for doing business with them, and told to have a great day. Things couldn't have gone any smoother. I had scheduled a pickup of a 4x8 in decorah is a week in advance and was told Saturday they didn't have one and changed my pickup location to lacresant Minnesota only to learn on Monday they didn't have a 4x8 either so I started calling other uhaul locations until I found on in prairie du chain Wisconsin. Very frustrating

Make sure all employees are well informed. We reserved online and used the 24/7 Truck share because we were picking the truck up after business hours. I called the location to verify everything went through and get an idea of how the process works. I was told that this was a mistake and the website needed to be updated, that we would have to be there before closing time and they do not offer anything like this. My fiance called back later in the day to see if we could change the reservation because there was no way we could make it before closing and some with a different employee. She was told that the person earlier was a new employee and not fully aware of this option. He was very great and made sure it was all set up for us. It went smoothly and was so easy! Other than the mix up I was very impressed with the flexibility!

It took 3 hours to get ahold of customer service help when I couldn't get my key for the 24/7 service . The worker that was helping me after 2 hours apparently went home so I had to wait again for another agent in the pouring rain. Then my check in time was earlier than my check out time because of all the wait time and I asked for an extension and had to pay full price for another day. I think after all the inconvenience I should have gotten the second day for free.

John was great. Truck was available promptly on reserve date. Only comment, we didn't realize we needed an Alan wrench to adjust the mirrors, luckily a friend had a set and got the mirrors adjusted. Would have been helpful if pickup location had checked to make sure mirrors were ok for us since they couldn't be adjusted by hand.

The location was fine . It just wasn't the location promised to me. after insisting I would be able to pick up my rental in my town I had to drive one hr away to get it. Not happy at all. Then had to pay for a larger trailer than was requested. not happy at all.

Poor customer service. Guy was high on something. Mumbled for 20 minutes while trying to type on the computer. Tried to sell me some weed vape thing. Transporter was full of ice and snow. He didn't come out to hook it up to my vehicle. I had to do it myself. Straps were frozen in ice to transporter. Had to go to carwash to soak straps to unfreeze them from the ice. Had to chip away at the ice where the car would drive on and sit. The list goes on. Worst experience I've ever had with Uhaul

My uhaul experience we horrible. I reserved a truck in Iowa , only to be told a day before I had to drive to Wisconsin to pick up a truck if I wanted a truck to drive. I did not have the truck returned exactly at 10am they charged me another 40 dollar for a whole day when it was a matter of hours. Was not able to change my drop off location but they can change the pick up location . Never will use uhaul again.

To improve for clients moving forward, you could start with not overbilling them and being honest with your clients. It is the motto for most successful businesses, clearly this UHAUL location has some work to do on the customer service end.

When we started to load the trailor we opened it up to find a large wooden pallet that we will now have to dispose of it and we have to clean it out. The trailor itself was maintain nicely

They need a better sign from U Haul! Not very easy to notice from the road. Directions to a gas station for easy access with a large truck. Process was done very quickly and with very knowledgeable people.

The location was La Crosse, but no one informed me. Had to drive there extra miles back and forth. Was not prepared for that. Happy extra miles was given.

Staff didn't know how to properly hook up trailer. Also didn't know to check brake fluid reservoir (which was appallingly low) and told us they had no training. Also while waiting woman had come in because the staff didn't hook up her trailer properly and it came off the hitch while driving. Staff member owned up to not hooking it up correctly. Will never use location again.

First, I rented a trailer. The employee that attached it didn't tighten the trailer down to the hitch ball. We got maybe a mile up the road and the trailer came off, in 4 lanes of traffic, when we slowed down to stop, the chains (which were attached) pulled the trailer into the back of the vehicle. It hit the frame underneath the vehicle. When I went back (shortly after this happened) the employee was instantly apologetic, asked if there was damaged, I stated I didn't know. He attempted to return the trailer on the computer but ended up returning another person's equipment. He ended up calling the manager, which turns out he's dating. He was overwhelmed and had to walk away, after she arrived. I wanted to bring the trailer back and get a truck. The driver I had no longer wanted to pull the trailer. She was scared it would happen again and was generally mad at the whole situation. The manager never once apologized, never asked about damages, acted like I inconvenienced her. Never told me the full cost before printing the contract for me to sign for the truck. But I had to move things that day. What was suppose to cost $21 something.. ended up costing me $193. I put more gas in than the contract said I had to. Upon returning, the same employee was there. He, again, apologized. I told him I over filled the gas tank, he stated, "it happens." Not once did the manager ask about damage, no one checked the vehicle for damages or trailer for damage, in my presence. No one offered to make anything better, considering the situation. While I got done what I needed to, I was hours late and spent way more than budgeted.
