I recently used U-Haul’s Truck Share self-check-in service, and unfortunately, the experience was quite frustrating. The reserved dolly was not placed in the truck, which caused a major delay — I ended up spending nearly four hours trying to locate one from other locations. Customer service seemed unprepared to handle the situation and kept transferring my calls without offering a clear solution. The location that eventually provided the dolly was initially unaware that it could be issued as a one-way rental, adding further confusion. To make matters worse, the key box lock at the Cold Shot Calgary location was rusty and extremely difficult to open. Overall, the entire process was a hassle caused by a preventable oversight, and it significantly impacted my moving schedule.

Lucille FThe truck got stuck on a slight hill. Not buried in snow. The road was icy and I got no help from Uhaul. They expected me to pay the tow bill to get the truck away from the neighborhood given that it was all uphill to get out of the street. Unfortunately, Uhaul has the monopoly on rentals. Nothing to be done.

Darren WThey charged me $250 for damage to the van roof. No pictures or inspection was done to the van roof at any point during the rental. And I know for a fact that I didn’t cause any damage to the roof of the vehicle. I’m not happy about that.
Matthew RI recently rented a vehicle from U-Haul and was charged for damage that I did not cause. Despite my careful handling of the vehicle, the receipt included an unwarranted damage charge. I attempted to resolve this issue with customer service at the rental location, but the response was unhelpful and frustrating. This experience has been both costly and time-consuming. I would not recommend U-Haul based on this experience and will be seeking more reliable and transparent rental options in the future.

Stanley SGot a 26’ for travel across the states. Lady here was great with tips to do, watch for, etc. Also made clear to do quick online check before driving off. That’s where you note any truck damage to protect yourself. The whole process was easy, convenient & smooth!
Brenda CAgain, this was not the location we requested and we returned the trailer early on Sat afternoon and they close at 10:30 am? So no one was there to help us or tell us where to leave the trailer and we felt very sketchy about leaving it there.

Sergei PWhen I was making reservations there was no 10foot truck available and I would get 15 feet truck as discount. I think this information was not in reservations record. So was charged for a 15' truck. This is just for you guys to do recalibrate your system. Discount at this point not make sense. Staff were great I give them 10 for effort.

David LNot a retail looking facility. No questions were asked to confirm route which ended up in double the rental cost in mileage. They didn’t even give enough mileage allowance to make the trip. How is that reasonable? It’s not.

Marylynn CAbsolutely awful experience. Booked an AV in the SW of Calgary. Two days before my pickup date they phoned me and said I would have to drive the the NE of Calgary to pick it up. Got there, the wires for the trailer light where not wired improperly so I couldn’t take that, they had two of the exact same trailers sitting in the lot but they sent me to a location in the NW to get a different one. Trailer hadn’t even been cleaned but the lights worked..

Zita BSome of the rental items were not available. I had to go to another location to rent them. The payment process was extremely slow. I was asked to considerbly more for the truck rental than was quoted. It took a long time to get everything sorted out.

Travis CI picked this unit up at 9:30 in the morning dropped it off before 5 o’clock in the evening and he charged me full price totally not good I feel I should’ve got a discount or money back. I only had it for less than a day.

HEATHER MThe Truck was dirty when I rented it, I did not know until I got home, and now you guys are charging me extra cost. I was confused if the UHaul was using Gas or diesel. But I think 28L of Gas is just too outrageous. I think that's is a scam if you are charging 28L of Gas for just 33 Mile distance

david hI requested a drop-off location, confirmed twice, online and in Edmonton. Upon arriving in Calgary, I received an email saying I can no longer drop off there and instead have to drive across the city. Furthermore, this change in drop-off location had a different closing time, forcing me to rush my move. Will not put up with this again.
