When we least the trailer, we indicated we wanted it returned to Sloan Storage in Hartsville Tennessee. The contract stated that. However, on the way home we received a text saying we were to return it to Crossroads U-Haul in Castalian Springs Tennessee. I called Mr Sloan who informed me he had too many trailers and that if I returned it to his location I would have to pay a penalty, as he called it. I took it to the location one day earlier than I was scheduled to return it, at 1: 40 pm on Saturday, again, one day early. The return site was closed with no way to access it for an after-hours drop off. There was no way we could drop it off on Sunday as we are faithful people and would be at church at the drop off time. I called U-Haul and the lady said she would give an extra day and I could return it on Monday. Then, after agreeing to that she told me that beings I had selected the insurance on the trailer, that I would be charged for the extra day for the insurance. That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard, I tried to return it to the location the contract said, I was diverted to another location, where I tried to return it early, only to find them closed. So for my trouble, it seems I was rewarded with being charged for the extra day of insurance. I let her know that that was not acceptable, and she referred me to a customer service number where she said I could lodge a complaint. I didn't want to complain I just didn't feel as if I should be charged, and I shouldn't have been. So when I called customer service I explained that and she said she would take care of the charge. I'm awaiting to see if it was. This return process was a big inconvenience. When I got to the restaurant side there was a very nice young lady who told me the computers were down. She called her dad I guess who was the owner and he told her what to do, so she showed me where the trailer was to be dropped. It was very close quarters driving in and turning around the right way in order to back the trailer up as the others were. There was no one there to disconnect it, inspect it, or otherwise. I disconnected the trailer myself and left. I want to let it be known that the young man that connected the trailer at the Owensboro location, and the young girl that assisted me at the drop off location, and even the customer service people were very nice. But this whole process shouldn't have happened with changing the drop off point to a location that was not on the contract. And then all the hassle with the extra day and the insurance and all that, those particular things would make me hesitant to rent or lease anything from U-Haul in the future.
