The self-serve option was horrible. I never got the code to my phone and almost didn’t get the key due to the business closing. It took 15-20 minutes before I could even leave.

I rated pick up location poor because I had to drive 50 extra miles from my area to pick up trailer. Ordered trailer in Champaign, and had to go to Decatur.

The woman that helped me was very pleasant. It's nice to know that true customer service still exists. She was respectful, courteous, kind, and funny! She made the process seamless and made me feel like a five star customer. All this and I got a U-haul also! Very impressed with service from this woman before and after using the truck. Great job.

The customer service agent needed a crash course on customer service. I understand the issues I experienced were not her fault but could have been approached and handled differently. The call center agent from U-haul called me a few days prior to my reservation and boldly lied to me about my reservation to which I pulled up my confirmation I received to show that I did indeed reserve the truck for 24 hours. He took it upon himself to shorten the appointment to 8 hours requiring me to have the truck returned that same night without penalties. I expressed the fact that I had hired people to help me move large furniture and that's why I needed it for 24 hours. When I expressed my displeasure with the staff at the pick up location and on the phone with u-hail management, their response was "too bad. If you can't have the truck back tonight, then we will not rent it too you at all." Obviously I needed the truck as I had already made arrangements and the fact that they would double book other customers for their own personal gain is asinine to me. That's terrible customer service and terrible business. Had I not been in a bind and actually needed the truck, I would have told them to go fuck them selves. Very dissatisfied and will never do business with them again. A word to the wise, explore your options before renting from u-haul as they are complete savages for their money and will completely change a reservation on you to accommodate others with no notice whatsoever. I will be contacting the BBB and making a formal complaint as there is no way they should be rated higher than a b-.

Was charged for the insurance when we specifically said we didn't need it. Was told that someone at the drop off location could issue a credit instead of issuing it right there. When your tired and hot from packing, driving for a few hours, unloading, the last thing you want to do is hassle with an incorrect charge. Again, it should have been addressed immediately.

At Decatur pool and spa had one person doing sales and rental. Wait time too long. Also gas gauge did not match paperwork! Return to 66 gas station, he wasn't there to go over truck with us!!

Unfortunately, this was the third UHaul we went to that morning. The first one opens in three weeks (so technically it didn't actually exist - though UHaul emailed me that as our destination), the second one didn't have the truck we needed, and the third location didn't have all the moving blankets we ordered (not their fault, since our reservation was supposed to be filled at the nonexistent UHaul place).

Not this sites fault, but U-Haul double booked my reservation and we had to drive 45 minutes each way to pick up a trailer. This, when coupled with the fact that no reservations are guaranteed until the day before decided for me I will not use U-Haul again for trailer rental.

The location in Decatur was fine, the employee very helpful, however, just not satisfied that U-haul made me go to Decatur to get the truck when I requested Pana two weeks in advance. I would have thought U-haul could have worked that out for me.

I was told to pick up truck at another location than I ended getting it at which caused a real problem as I had been dropped off at the place I was told and confirmed to pick up truck. The gentleman at the new location did not walk me through damage or check to see if truck was clean ( It wasn't) or had the oil been checked it was 2 quarts low he just took my money and sent me on my way very poor experience

I was skeptical about leaving the U-Hual in a location that was not open on Sunday - but it was easy to do. I think for security purposes, the parent company (U-Haul) might want to install sturdier drop boxes. It looks like the current drop box U-Haul uses could easily be tampered with and trucks could be easily stolen. I was glad to receive confirmation that everything was fine.

Uhaul is the worst service industry organization I have ever rented from! I had to drive 75 miles to pick up my truck. I had requested a truck 2 miles from my house. The additional inconvenience cost me an additional 50.00. I was emailed 20 hours before picking the truck up, when I had given Uhaul 10 days notice. I was told when I called to clarify the arrangement, "take it or leave it!" I would have loved to have left it, but I grind and bared it...for the last time.

This location is one of the best U-haul locations I have come across so far. They were really nice and friendly. All the paperwork and other formalities went very fast and smoothly. They did not try to sell the U-haul stuff (like many other locations), which was really appreciative as this attitude is very customer friendly. They also have a drop-off key box. I will highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to rent a U-haul in Decatur.

At the pickup location, everyone was friendly and accommodating. Renting was quick and efficient and we were very pleased. At the dropoff location, we were unable to get into the gate to do the after hours drop off. Someone finally let us in. The office was closed so we dropped off the truck but couldn't get out the gate since it neede a code from the inside to get out. I called the number on my U-Haul rental agreement and the man did not want to give me a code to get out. He told us to wait until someone came in and leave while the gate was open. There was obviously no way of knowing when that would be and we were stuck inside with no way to get out. After 10-15 minutes, he finally said he would give me a code but to drive to the gate first. In the meantime, my husband found a worker who was still there - the office had just closed. He agreed to let us out but told us we couldn't leave the truck, that we would have to bring it back on Monday (this was on Saturday). We were from out of state and that wasn't feasible not to mention that we would be over our time to turn the truck in. He finally let us out the gate. On the following Monday, he called to say he had to charge us for gas but that we could come there right then and fill up the truck and he would remove the charge. I reminded him we were from another state after which he informed me that we had not filled the truck and would have over a $50 charge. I tried to discuss it with him since it was not low on gas but he was rather rude. I had to take it a step above to get this resolved. Apparently he couldn't bother to get into the truck to check the gas gauge and checked it from outside the truck. I have a hard time believing that and honestly think he was trying to rip us off. Since the situation was investigated and we were happy with the way it was ultimately handled, we will rent from U-Haul again. Except for the man at the drop off site, it was a good experience and we are actually planning to rent again in a couple of weeks.

The AC in the truck didn't work so it was a 7 hour ride with the window down. Other than that, it was good. The folks at the store tried hard to make sure that we were good to go.
