I went to the pick up location 2 days ahead to order a larger closed trailer. I was told the next day that a trailer was available about 2-3 hours farther away. I did not have time to do this. I was told there was a smaller one available at Diamond D. When I arrived for pick up there were only open trailers. I was moving furniture and it was raining. I explained to Diamond D that I was moving furniture and needed the cargo trailer. I was very disappointed at not receiving what I ordered and to be told nothing else to be done on the day of pick up and not when I ordered. If your trailers are not available, this should be stated right away. You should not ask clients to add 5-6 hours to a busy day. Telephone personnel could be more service oriented and less rude.

Computer program for setting up rental agreement did not seem to be user friendly. Worker had extreme difficulty filling in info. It needs improvements. Took well over half an hr to process, yet I had prebooked by phone, and had received a phone call the day before rental as a reminder of the booking. Van was up to date with lots of power. Cab and inside van clean. Windshield had not been cleaned on outside.

The staff at Diamond D Auto was very unfriendly at the and he was not willing to explain me the truck. I would rather go to the other Uhaul location in Portage.

Extremely helpful and friendly! I called when I had trouble with a tire in the US and couldn't get through to Uhaul roadside assistance, and he gave me other numbers to call, and asked me to call him back if I was unable to resolve my problem. I would highly recommend him, he went above and beyond the call of duty!!!

This location has other business associated with it which may effect customer service in some small ways. On the return of the rental, I was asked for a photo of the mileage and fuel gauge. I felt it should be their responsibility to check this, as well as look the equipment over while I waited to determine for his-self if the truck was indeed clean and swept out as required. The fact that I had to return to the truck for that photo put me off slightly.

I was told there we no trailers in the size i requested 3 weeks earlier in all of winnipeg (3-4 locations). I was told this 3 days before my pickup time, and was told I would have to travel an hour west to portage la praire (this location) to pick up. I was not offered a discount or anything. If you know that there is no trailers my size that early, YOU need to bring it to a location for the customer, not have me drive 2 hours round trip to get a trailer that I was about to take on a 3 day trip already. That was added gas and strain on my car that I didn't need. The attendent there at first refused to help me attach the trailer, because he " couldn't leave the office" since he was the only one there. Thats fine, but if I had hurt my back or anything trying to get that trailer onto my hitch alone, you'd bet you'd have a lawsuit coming your way. On top of all this, the person running this location had no idea how to enter in my information (that somehow got lost even though I entered it in online before hand) and forgot to give me back my credit card after i finally got my trailer on the hitch. Extremely negative experience, in what should have been a 10-15 minute pick-up, put me behind on my move over an hour and a half.

Only negative was that it doesn't show up on Google Maps, made it hard to find. When I called in for directions though the personnel were very helpful!

One problem: the dealer was unable/unwilling to waive the "Safe Move" $270 surcharge. When I first reserved online, I was sure that I would not be billed, because I did not want the coverage, but the dealer said he never rented people a uhaul without that coverage. This was frustrating, but since I was in a hurry, I couldn't stand there and phone head office. I don't like being pushed extra charges, when it was not on my reservation.

It would've been good customer service had the truck windshield been cleared of snow. Also would've been nice had the truck been warmed up and brought to the front of the building for me. I had a bit of troubles getting the truck to reverse in the snow where it was parked. The staff member was friendly when I arrived though.

The wheel strap on the passenger-side of the car towing trailer was broken. I had to purchase another strap from Canadian Tire to make it work temporarily. The Uhaul dealership should have noticed this prior to me leaving Portage with the trailer. Good thing I was able to think of a temporary fix, and purchased another strap to make it work for me and my move. I have reported this damage to the Uhaul drop-off location.

Nobody knew anything. I had to phone in and do everything myself. I'll buy a trailer before I rent. They told me there was a trailer in one location then had to drive an extra 90km pulling a trailer that had horrible wind resistance costing extra.

Highly Recommend Using this dealer again I have rented from U-Haul before but not from this location. I must say this location has changed my mind about U-Haul. I drove away with a smile on my face. Tim was very friendly ,helpful and knowledgeable , that made a huge difference for me.

Good initial meeting. Tim wanted me to remain in the office while he did his look-over the returned truck. Once satisfied, he came back in and confirmed no further charges and e-mailed me the receipt showing $0 owing. Then we went over the paperwork, and when he noticed the colored slips, he remarked "No Safe-Move insurance?" When I answered "No, my auto insurer includes such supplemental insurance... my good-driver package insures ME, not just my vehicle" he said "In that case, I'm going to go have a better look over the truck!" I thought he was making a joke until he actually got back up and left the office out to the truck again! This time I followed to make sure he wasn't going to attribute me any damages! VERY sketchy operator, left me feeling very uneasy as I left, and carefully watching my CC activity next few days!

Booked a enclosed trailer online they didn't have it said the closest one was in shole lake 2 hours away when I checked there were some in Winnipeg even though I specifically asked if Winnipeg had some. Had to settle for an open trailer thank goodness it didn't rain

Understood, U-Haul is not their primary business - but waiting on service that you have no choice but waiting on is very frustrating. When I arrived to pick up the trailer, it took several minutes for the lone person there to emerge from the back shop to address me.

The service at Diamond Auto sales was good, but the overall experience wasn't. I had several calls with local dealers and customer services in Phoenix, and was quite surprised as to just how out of sync they are, which I found amusing and equally very annoying. Four days prior to the agreed date of hire, it was confirmed that I would have the 26ft truck I needed, and was told that a day prior to pick up, the location pick up would be confirmed. I received a call full of excuses as to why I couldn't have my desired truck, and the only one available would not only be a 20ft, but I would also have to drive 70km out the city to pick it up. Even when picking up the smaller truck, the extra details regarding the longer hire(due to inconvenience caused) and equipment needed, wasn't included in the details that Diamond Sales had received. The truck wasn't big enough and needed a friend with a trailer to help with my move. Had it not been for the previous hassle associated with the initial hire, I would've hired a trailer from U-Haul. So in a nutshell, good clean vehicle. The service received by Diamond Sales was good, and I would recommend them personally. U-haul as a whole, no. Although no one was in sync regarding queries, personel from Phoenix were pleasant to talk to, whereas 2 local dealers whom I spoke to in Winnipeg, were rude and lacking true customer service.

Originally requested for Brandon, MB several weeks in advance but still not available. Suggest maintaining certain minimum levels of popular items in each major centre. Also, should get partial refund for returning equipment several days earlier than expected.

When i returned to Dauphin MB i recieved a call from UHaul advising me that i would not be able to drop off the trailer at the location in Dauphin as arranged. They asked me to drive the trailer to Brandon which is 180 kms away. I told them that i was not interested but that i would be near Portage La Prairie on Apri 25 and i would drop it off there if i received a $50 reduction in my original contract. I was told someone would call me back to confirm. By Friday i had not heard from anyone so again i had to call customer service to confirm that this is what they wanted me to do and i was finally told to proceed. When i got to Portage the guy there knew nothing about it. Today i received, instead of the $50 rebate, a receipt for an additional $150 charged to my credit card by the dealer in Portage. Again i had to phone customer service to straighten this out. Very dissapointed with the entire experience.
