This location processed fraudulent charges to our credit card after drop-off. We dropped off the rental a day early where instructed at 6:47 PM on 9/10/2025 and we have date and time stamped video proof taken with our cell phones. The due date was 1:40 PM on 9/11/2025. This location claimed we returned the rental at Noon on 9/12/2025 and charged us for an extra day. We sent an email to 793002_GM@uhaul.com which went unanswered, and disputed the charge with the credit card company. The "evidence" submitted from U-Haul is clearly doctored as it has my husband's ID digitally placed on top of a statement that includes the extra day and the fraudulent return time. At the time of writing this review I still have not been refunded for the fraudulently charged fee of $42.80.

Then I was sent to West Des Moines, 45 minutes from my house only to find there was no equipment available. Then eventually I was sent 90 miles one way to pick up the truck.. your customer service department was absolutely no help, and the only saving grace you had was at your Ames location, Brian saved the day in a very stressful time for me. Will not recommend or return to Uhaul 😪
