This particular location was wonderful. The attendant was very helpful and that part was a great experience. The rest of my experience with U-Haul was absolutely awful!! I was supposed to pick up the truck at a location near me. I received a phone call the day before telling me they didn't have a truck and I would need to go to another location. The second location was farther away from me and they did not care that I would be paying more money from a mistake that they made (they had previously CONFIRMED the location of the truck, then changed it, and acted like it was my fault!). The next day I go to the location they gave me and it was closed and there was no truck. Apparently it was a remote pick up, which was never told to me. I had to call the 1-800 number to find out what was going on. They had to find me another truck. They did not have one the size I needed, so they gave me what they did have available. It was an absolute mess as I was driving all over to try to find a truck. I am extremely upset and disappointed with U-Haul. I paid more than I should have because the location I did use (with the fantastic attendant) was well out of the way and I had to pay the extra mileage. None of that seems fair. What you could do to improve the experience for the next customer? Actually stay true to your word. If you confirm a truck at one location, make sure the truck is there. If it is not, then credit the customer for the extra miles they have to drive to pick it up and drop it off. At a dollar a mile, 10 or 20 miles makes a difference. As a teacher, every dollar counts for me. Unfortunately, U-Haul does not seem to care about that. Incredibly disappointed with this experience,

Customer service at Douglas West Emissions was excellent! The staff member was prompt but also took time with us to make sure that we understood all the details and felt comfortable before moving our rental. He kindly answered a lot of newbie questions and was very professional. However, the neighboring business owner was very aggressive with my driving partner and I. The neighbor loudly demanded that we keep moving our car (3 times in 17 minutes!), even though the car was never on his property; only in the communal parking lot and parked legally. The neighbor was angry that we were not there to have our emissions checked with him. Douglas West Emissions had no control over the situation, and I know that. It is not Douglas West's fault at all.

I was inconvenience when I showed up to pick up the truck by them not having a dolly or furniture pads that I had requested in my rental. When I picked up the truck it only had a 1/4 so I had to get gas before ever starting. There was no compensation. They charged me a fuel charge of 44 dollars for the needle be barely under a quarter when I dropped off. So I ended up having to pay $157 dollars for a truck with no equipment….no person available to talk to in person had to file complaints about the equipment through online and phone services… I wouldn’t rent from them if you are smart

Douglas West Emissions was great, however the POS truck was horrible. I hadn’t used uhaul since August 2014 and this experience confirmed why the alternative has become prime. With Penske the issues I experienced with uhual would have never been present.
