Very convenient and simple to rent with the U-Haul app

Holly SI needed to rent a small truck for a day-long project. The overall experience of renting the truck was fine, but here are some comments/suggestions for improvement: * people checking out the trucks need to explain the full process of checking in/checking out the truck. I had not rented a uhaul in years so was unfamiliar with the process. Plus, the last time I did, I had a person do the check in/checking out process. The person I had handed me the keys and told me where to drop off keys after hours. That was it. * for check in, I got a text that told me that I needed to take pictures. I followed those instructions, as this was not done by the person checking me out. * remind people to download the Uhaul app. This was absolutely needed to check in the truck at the end, and I did not have it. This caused problems as I just dropped the keys off (per instructions) and then realized my account was still open. I could not take inside pictures to close things out. *I also did not receive a check in text (which would be been great to have), so I had to call customer service to have them close me out and make notes. This causes added stress that was not necessary. The customer service agent, Shelly, was amazing and helped me with checking in my truck. I so appreciate her kindness and patience with walking me through the steps. The person checking me in also didn’t know the measurements of the truck and couldn’t answer my questions. He needed to refer me to the other person who was busy. Overall check out time was about 30 min. There was a line and had to wait. Also have the agent explain why they are taking pictures of IDs with their phone - that was a little concerning as he was picking up my DL and taking pictures of it. I had to ask, and he confirmed it was to load into the system, but in times today, I don’t need someone stealing my identity, so please explain to customers. Act like this is our first time and need things dumbed down. Overall, the experience was OK. The truck worked out great, and I was able to get everything loaded in one trip. Just some stress at the end with check in.

CHARLES KNo utility dolly which I paid for. I got a text to drop off all the way in Millard so went there and had to return back to Elkhorn to drop it off. Very frustrating and a waste of miles and gas.

MARGARET M5x8 cargo trailer with ramp is a game changer when loading. Elkhorn Rentals did not wait for me to ask for the ramp option but provided it knowing the savings it would be for loading and unloading.
MICHAEL FPickup was flawless. Dropoff was ok, except the app was being flakey and would not let me proceed beyond taking photos of the dashboard. I had to reach out via chat to complete the drop off.

I'd never driven anything like a 20' truck, much less with a trailer towing my Jeep. They were so supportive and gave me the confidence I needed to be successful in my task. I would recommend this location every day & twice on Sunday!

CARLELLE OI rented the 16' toy hauler for the weekend, allowing my family to take our UTV to the in-law's farm in central Nebraska. The trailer worked so well, I will definitely rent this again. I pulled the trailer with my class A camper, and we did not even know we were towing something. The ease of use, loading the UTV on the trailer and taking it off the trailer was exceptional. U-Haul has developed an incredible trailer for recreational use and any other towing someone might need for a 16' flatbed trailer with ramps.
VICTOR SDear U-Haul Customer Service, I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue we encountered during a recent U-Haul rental under reservation number 93472679. During our trip from Omaha to Houston, we experienced significant rainfall while driving through Oklahoma. Unfortunately, during approximately four hours of rain, the passenger compartment of the truck leaked extensively, resulting in both passengers and their belongings—including clothing—getting soaked. We had to stop at a gas station to purchase towels in an attempt to dry off and stay comfortable for the remainder of the journey. We find this level of water intrusion unacceptable and far below the standard one should expect from a vehicle rented for a long-distance trip. Staying dry and safe should be a basic expectation when renting a U-Haul vehicle for an 800-mile journey. The truck was returned this morning at your Pearland, TX location, and we respectfully request that U-Haul review this issue and consider issuing a partial refund for the rental due to the discomfort and inconvenience caused.
