This location is fine but the online rental system clearly had a glitch in it. It had my tow vehicle as the wrong vehicle and it had the vehicle that I was towing listed as the wrong vehicle. The straps failed on the trailer causing my car to fall off.
Mark Pgot there in one of the straps on the tow for the car was broken so we had to wait for it to be replaced that should’ve been handled before we got there took time out the trip the guy that was there was very nice very kind best for the equipment. It was very junkie. The truck drove fine which scared us so of course once we made it to a busy road an accident occurred.
deshon eThe gentleman ("Pop") who owns this location was friendly, professional, and helpful. The facility is a small auto repair shop that rents trailers on the side. This location was assigned to us after the original location assigned turned out to be horrible. Thank you for re-assigning us. The original assignment was the worst. When we arrived there were about five or six trailers of the type we'd ordered. We walked in at our assigned 10 o'clock time and the clerk said in broken English, "12 o'clock." I said our trailer was to be ready at ten, and he pointed across the street, made a scribbling motion with his finger in his hand, and said, "paperwork, door." We finally realized he wanted us to go to the service station across the street, where we were again told "12 o'clock." He finally said someone would be there in five minute. After another half hour he said that the only person who could complete the rental was in India. There would be a manager there who "might know" how to complete the rental. At that point I called U-Haul and spoke to a very helpful woman who assigned me to the new location and Pop. I walked out the door and have no idea whether the so-called manager who "might know" what to do ever arrived. This location should lose its franchise as soon as possible.
ROBERT BThere was broken glass in the uhaul truck itself, and a tire flew off our trailer during our trip. We were told the cost of the auto trailer would be refunded, only to be told by a different representative the next day that they were only covering the $25 transfer fee. We could've been seriously injured or injured someone else with the flying tire because of uhaul's negligence and lack of maintenance on their own products.

Steve CThe location was fine. The truck was clean, but needed some maintenance. The steering wheel was not properly centered so it made driving very difficult, and we were quickly fatigued. The outside rear dullie wheel was almost bald. The cab was very loud as the rubber seal around the passenger side door comes off and had to be put back on several times. Both doors had to be slammed very hard to get them to close properly otherwise the cab was so loud I couldn’t hear the walkie talkie radio, and had to shout to be heard by the passenger. Also, the pick-up location was changed from what we originally selected. This was frustrating to my wife as it was stressful to figure out where to go when we were stressed from moving.

Amanda ABest service of any kind I've received since living in Elkhart. I'm glad I used my better judgement and rented a little farther away after seeing the lot of the other location that was recommended because it was closer. It's important to feel safe when dealing with a place of business and Uhaul should reconsider some of these neighborhood dealers. The dealer I picked up from was awesome and deserves every bit of 5 stars. He explained things thoroughly and was very nice when confirming the reservation. The only business I would consider renting from in Elkhart by far.

jim dThough the trailor had a 2" receiver on it and I had a relitve new ball there seamed to be more play that I am use to seeing. Trailor pulled pulled ok, but empty rattled at the ball conection. Not sure why.
Wayne Si use uhaul often and i never had such a bad experience as here. the guy was unprofessional. took him an hr just to do my reservations. tried to give me the truck with the wrong milage so i would have been charged before i even took it off the lot. i originally rented it for 1 day. the next day before the 24 hr mark i called to extend it another day which is a normal thing with uhaul company itself but this private renter threatened me with putting a report for stealing the uhaul. i told him i was going to call the company and report it because im a paying customer and im following the rules... why am i being treated like that. the 2nd day of the uhaul before my 48 hour return time came i called to let him know we will be dropping off our truck at 2. he demanded the truck at 12 and once again threatened me with filing a report of stolen vehical. all because he said he had another customer to give it to. that is not my problem. i paid for 48 hrs im entilted to my 48 hrs. the way they do buisness is horrific. treated me and my family so bad and we are paying customers. that is not right. it doesnt end there though. apon returning the uhaul when we were checking out for payment he told me since i didnt bring it back at 12 when he wanted that he was charging me for 3 days. thats is stealing. i did not authorize that. i only had it LESS then my 48 hours. i was outrached and called customer service right away to file a complaint. that is bad buisness. uhaul compqny should really look into that small dealer. he only has 1 rental uhaul available but he represents the uhaul company and i will officially not use them ever again. worse experience i ever had being cursed at and mistreated very unprofessional. im an assistant general manager for my company and i will tell you what... WE WOULD NEVER ALLOW OUR CUSTOMERS ..PAYING CUSTOMERS TO BE TREATED AND TALKED TO THE WAY HE DID. uhaul you need to look into it and disiplinary action needs to be taken. if thats how i was treated who knows how many other people are mistreated as well.
