Jessica CThe location and onsite personnel were positives. My problem is how I was treated by uhaul. Will definitely consider the competitors next time. The vehicle was hard to start. The engine didn’t want to turn over. Instead of having it for 3 days, I returned it early because I didn’t want to get stranded. Additionally, after I reserved the uhaul truck, I was asked by text if I would tow an open trailer. I agreed to do this for compensation. It took 30 minutes talking with someone over the phone to organize. After I picked up the truck and started my drive to get the trailer, I got a text canceling the tow. What a waste of time my time. The money compensation was minimal so no big deal that was canceled but the extra day was nice but couldn’t use it as the truck wasn’t reliable.

David OTime needed for my rental always seems to change, I use U-Haul maybe 4 times total and 3 times I have been heavily penalized for total time needed equipment.but service has always been very kind n helpf
Ryan RI was originally supposed to pickup in Gaithersburg and when I set everything up, I was told that the Gaithersburg location had the truck available. The day before, I received a call that it was not available and that I had to pick it up an hour away for n Frederick, so during a hectic move, I lost two hours (and a lot of gas) in driving back and forth to and from Frederick to pickup. Giving me an allowance on miles driven is not a reasonable compensation. I should have been given more time and/or a discount on inconvenience and gas cost. The truck smelled like cigar smoke, too.

IAN WAnswering phones on 800 #! I called numerous times to extend my use of the rental but was left on hold! I finally did get through but sort at least 2-2 1/2 hours on hold all together!

MARK JYou can PLEASE replace the young lady (and I use the term "lady" very loosely) who was attending the store the day of my pick up. As a former, multi-year manager in the hospitality industry, I can absolutely excuse and entirely understand a new associate who is in her words, "not fully trained" having difficulty resolving reservation glitches, as long as they are trying their best, friendly and apologetic but the gal who I dealt with offered nothing but excuses, a bunch of nonsense about some notes on my customer profile about multiple attempts made by other U-Haul associates to contact me regarding a potential problem with my reservation and a complete lack of willingness to be helpful or apologetic and was downright one of the RUDEST, most hateful customer service people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with! Feel free to call me and I will gladly be willing to share my full, unpleasant experience with this woman.
John WYour software is horrible. The check-in process took about 30 minutes and the check-out process 45 minutes. You seem to be oriented entirely around customers using your app. Trying to use your site on a phone stinks and whatever you've given to the person behind the counter is not helpful. Until I hear from others that you've fixe things I won't be using U-Haul again. What a waste of my time, not to mention the frustration foist upon the very nice person who was trying to help me. I can't say enough kind things about Jen or express fully how terrible the software supporting the process.
David KThe lady was VERY VERY VERY RUDE, I dare say racist!! She was adamant on not giving me the truck, and went as far as saying I should go to another location to pick up the truck, because that one was "reserved". She treated me as a criminal, and she accused me of not paying, therefore I dont have right to the truck. Mind you, I was told to go to that location by UHAUL

Jesse HWehadca 12pm reservation and arrived promptly. Representative had no knowledge of uhaul safety equipment on the trailers. Something did not seem right so we asked her to come outside to look at it. She came reluctantly but stated no one taught her about them. Since she was no help we googled it ourselves and figured out was missing the tail light cable. We told her. She made a phone call and we waited in hot car for an hour for area repair manager to bring a cable. He was polite and helpful. However, When returning the trailer several hours later in the general area where we picked it up but in a different direction, the original clueless woman came out and directed us to move it to another location ourselves. The parking lot is very small and no space to turn around. Backing up was difficult given the logistics of the lot. I have been using uhaul for decades and never has a location had an issue with the spot on the lot where return is made. As long as returned in good condition and timely, it should be up to lot to make adjustments for it returned equipment.
charles mThe price quoted me was $100.00 more when I picked up the trailer. I called the Albany, New York phone numberand was told that I would charged for 3 days and receive a refund when I returned the trailer on the same day. When I went to my local dealer on Monday morning he told me that I would be charged for 3 days even though I only used the trailer 1 day. Price was extreme high for a 1 day 1 way rental. Price was ambiguous at best.

JONAS MThey had only one truck, the one I picked up. They only had 6 UHaul blankets, and they gave me 6 more heavy duty pads that the UHaul didn't recognize when I dropped them off. There was also no utility dolly...no dollies at all. I had to go to another UHaul place across town to get a dolly.

Jerry MCall directly if you don't have the correct size truck available. Finding the right size truck was irritating and put us off an entire day, plus, the people we had arranged to help load were not available when we finally got the truck. The people on the phone were courteous but the experience was not fun.

Edward SI took the truck to a U-Haul center in Montgomery village to the Brakes checked due to a warning light on the dash as well as a abs light. They refused to check the truck and referred me to roadside assistance. They even refused to assist me with contacting assistance. When I did reach roadside assistance. They refused to come out and check the truck. They instead told me to engage and disengage the parking break lever too clear the fault. I was. Forced to drive 600 miles with the warning light flashing the whole way. What kind of business would ALLOW a vehicle with faulty break leave their property. Much less refuse to address the issue when it is brought up. I paid over $1800 to be treated badly. And put at risk. And will never rent from. Uhaul again.

DOUG CI reserved 3 dozen blankets and the location only had 17 blankets on property. Also, it took me 45 minutes to check out as the guy working the counter didn't understand how to work the system and seemed to be under the influence of some drug or extremely hungover. Would never recommend this location - very unpleasant experience.
Carolyn HWe were told that we had 100 miles and anything over that would be at 0.40/mi. We went 115 miles and were charged for 24 miles. The little bit of money is not a big deal but being lied to is....I will choose someone other than uhaul for my next need (which will be soon and a large truck) I do not appreciate being lied to and will not tolerate this. I will let everyone know that this is how uhaul handles business.
