I went to Everett Uhaul to buy boxes for my recent move, and the person at the counter suggested that when I rent a truck, I rent it just "One-Way" which is less expensive than returning it. So I went on the Uhaul app and rented a truck for one way from Everett to Des Moines, Wa. I rented the truck three weeks in advance, thinking this would be plenty of time for Uhaul to make sure (as the guarantee you read on every POS unit at every checkstand states) that the vehicle I wanted would be ready to go. The day before my move (February 27th), I received a phone call from Uhaul Everett to inform me they did not have a truck for me. I was literally packed and ready to go the next morning. They said they had a truck clear up in Marysville which is many miles north of where I was located. I mentioned I was in Des Moines and the guy I talked to said he had a truck in Auburn I could use. I told him I had rented a truck for the One Way Service which had been suggested to me, and that this meant I would be driving the truck round teip from Auburn, to Everett, and back down to Des Moines, and THEN to Renton where HE asked me to return it. He said I should still be able to get the One Way Deal. This is a scam. I had to pay twice the amount of fuel, and since I didn't get the truck from Everett, guess what??? The deal they offered me FOR GOING OUT OF MY WAY TO ACCOMMODATE UHAUL'S INCOMPETENCE WAS NULL AND VOID. I got stabbed for double fuel and mileage which was 98 miles, so I got charged for half of that mileage by the Renton location. Plus, I brought the truck to a location they NEEDED IT AT. Shame on these losers. I'm thinking next time I need a van, I'll go with NOT UHAUL.
