I'm glad the truck was in great shape and worry free from potential problems for the 1000 mile trip. There are a couple of things I would suggest. 1) Have the agent walk around the vehicle before it leaves the lot. This way if there's previous damage to the truck, that agent can document it or be a witness to it. I did a walk around using my camera on my phone to include the location should anything be questioned at a later time. I have had prior experience renting out vehicles (not with U-haul though) so I kinda know how it goes sometimes with other companies. 2) The load I was hauling needed to be secured properly. The railing along the inside of the box truck was not ideal. It would have been nice to have an anchor point at each corner of the floor and use ratchet tie-downs to secure the load. I was able to make it work, but it could have been secured better. The existing railings are weak, and one was already broken which didn't help.

It’s not safe to park the truck on the street. And I dropped it off a day early . They didn’t check in my truck till late in the day the next day and I got a late fee. I’m not happy with this experience. I rent 7 to 8 times a year and this was the worst
