To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express serious concerns regarding a recent experience with a U-Haul rental. The location I visited was staffed by a single attendant who, despite being courteous and professional, was clearly working under extreme pressure. She was responsible not only for U-Haul transactions but also for managing the gas station's cashier duties, including tobacco and fuel sales. As a result, it took approximately an hour and a half for me to complete the check-out process due to constant interruptions. More critically, the U-Haul truck I received was in extremely poor mechanical condition. It idled loudly, struggled to accelerate, and shook violently when the brakes were applied. The braking system also made a loud whooshing sound that gave the impression the vehicle might fail at any moment. During my long-distance move to Connecticut, the truck stuttered repeatedly, making the engine seem close to giving out. It is deeply concerning that a vehicle in such condition was cleared for rental—especially for a cross-country trip. This represents a serious safety risk and a disservice to customers who are already under the stress of relocating. Vehicles must be thoroughly inspected and maintained before being rented out, and in this case, that clearly did not happen. I hope U-Haul will take this feedback seriously, investigate this incident, and take corrective action to ensure both customer safety and service quality.
