The pick up of the uhaul cargo trailer was easy. The personnel attached the trailer and I was off to fill it up and travel 1200 miles with it. The trailer traveled well behind my vehicle and I had no problems.CHARLA F.

Do not change the pickup location, this has happened the last two times that I have rented a trailerSteve B.
I prepared ahead using the ap the night prior to picking up the truck. Pre-paid, uploaded my license, etc. When I arrived to pick up the equipment, the truck and trailer were on-site; but they couldn't rent it to me because the system had not been updated . It appears that the truck needed to be checked out of the previous location, and checked into the pickups location. Sounds simple. It apparently wasn't. After driving 1.5 hours to get to the pickup location; we waited over an hour while they worked on the system. Eating into my precious moving time! When they finally got the system updated, they handed me a piece of paper to sign. The paper said that I declined coverage on the truck. Not true! I paid $56 for coverage on the truck the evening prior. This situation set off another round of struggles with the system as they tried to fix my contract to show the coverage. They talked to the regional manager multiple times. Couldn't get it fixed. Ultimately, I got a call from the Regional manager, Terry?, who said, â€œI've got your back - take my word for it, you are coveredâ€. This works until the lawyers get involved. I insisted on getting it in writing. Terry threatened to â€œtake back the equipment â€œ (I can't tell you what I thought of his remarks at the time, let's just say it didn't raise my opinion of him or U-Haul). Terry eventually promised (but NEVER delivered) a copy of the contract with a note on it, explaining that I had purchased coverage but a system problem prevented them from updating the contract. Four calls later, I found a kind customer service rep who looked back through (apparently) multiple iterations of the contract to find the one that proved I had purchased coverage. I received it via e-mail. Not impressed with the dealer or with the regional manager. I am a long time U-Haul customer who just converted to Penske! To add insult to injury, I was about 3 or 4 miles out of town when the trailer (that the dealership hooked up) came unhooked! I pulled over and tried to lift it pack onto the tow ball, but was unable to do so because of the weight of the trailer. So I called service and sat by the side of the road in the rain waiting for help. Worst ever experience with U-Haul. No apologies offered. Not impressed with the way the Regional Manager handled it. His systems issues were not caused by me. And yet he was short with me and threatening at one point. Everyone has bad days, he is forgiven; but I don't ever need to rent from U-Haul again ...Edward D.
